My Wii keeps freezing up!

My Wii keeps freazing up. I don't know why, it's never done this before. And it only seems to happen when exiting a Wi-Fi menue in a game. Do I need to clean the laser lense, or is it something else? I have dial up, but I don't see why the whole Wii would freeze.

And I don't see how you get WiFi to work at all on DIAL UP. WiFi doesn't work on dial up, period. No way no how. It only works on DSL or Broadband/cable.

Anyway. I'd say call Nintendo. Sounds like a system problem.

Okay let's get this straight. A regular ol' wireless router doesn't work on dial up, but you know the Nintendo USB Wi-Fi router? It doesn't need high speed internet, as long as you have internet. You plug it in, set it up, and boom! I'm off playing PBR on dial up :biggrin:.

Anyways like I said, the Wii only seems to freeze up when exiting a Wi-Fi menue on a game, even though it doesn't happen that much. I've also noticed that it only seems to happen when the Wii has been used nonstop for a long duration of time, like when I get my hardcore gaming on :wink:. So I don't think it's a system problem. I think the laser lense is a little dusty and needs to be cleaned or I just need to give it a break, because my brother plays it too. So I usally play then he plays right after I'm done, so it gets little rest for a few hours once started up.

I'll defenitly call them if this problem gets worse.

lol, you might as well not play online at all. No one is going to want to battle you due to all the lag.

Fixed. Seriously, dial-up? I mean, Dial-up? Seriously, that's just plain... DIAL UP? Seriously, get with the times man, there's cable, there's DSL, and there's Fios, and all three are supremely better then dial-up, plus with most cable companies their pretty cheap (just don't do Comcast, unless you want to sit around for three days waiting for the cable guy).

Anyway, I would advise both making sure the system is clean and calling Nintendo if you still have a problem. I'm no expert in the Wii (I don't even have one) but I do know computers, and since consoles are technically a kind of computing system, that is probably the best way to go (just whatever you do, don't hit it. Repair Method #1 does NOT work on Nintendo consoles, trust me, I know).
 
Okay like I have told you before,
over use on your Wii (like using it and it not getting any room to breath ) might kill it.
Yes the WIFI does work on dial up.
I play Pokemon battle Rev on it all the time.
Now with SMBB it might put alot of stress on it since it is a real time battle game.
And playing people on dial up on it ends up making everyone lag.

I just broke my DS on purpose by slamming against my desk because it wouldn't get connection with my wireless router. Wii keep being sent at low numbers as a marketing scheme to keep the demand high, and PUI is doing a horrible job at running this TCG. I wonder how anyone still likes Nintendo.

If you had been following any of the sales threads, you would know that Nintendo is shipping a lot of Wiis (fastest selling home console and what not). Take off your tinfoil hat. PUI has nothing to do with this. Two different companies.

regardless, i just like to express how disgusted i am by the way they run things. Freedom of speech, gotta love it:thumb:

i didn't even know you could still have dialup if you wanted it...seems like i switched to broadband over 10 years ago

Out where I like its not there yet....
Funny thing is i live four miles from DSL...
Other place where I live only one way you can get it thru the city and it cost 50 bucks for there modem (Only theres you can use) and then 50 a month.

Exactly! Would any of you like to come lay the DSL line for me? I would be ever so grateful! Don't ever judge a man by his Internet! I can't get DSL!


Anyways, would any of you like to help me with my problem? It has nothing to do with the Dial Up!
 
The Wii sometimes is slow with exiting programs if your message board has lots on it. It could be that or... dial-up? I think that may be the problem if it always happens online.
