Everybody is telling that with MD and Glaceon it will change the metagame. I couldn't find any good information about this card.

Why is gona Glaceon decks change the current decks ?

It only has 80, and 100 hp as lv x. Is it realy gona be so good ?

Well, lets see, it is an Eeveelution, which means it has the power to counter almost any disadvantage the deck might have via weakness. The Glaceon is water, which pretty much kills Magmortar, and your opponent cant use powers, which really hurts GG. The fact that you can use Espeon to attack and 1HKO most of the the GG pokemon certian doesnt hurt. Leafeon Lv. X allows you to attach 1 extra energy per turn. It really does change the format so much. It really is quite amazing how the Eeveelution line will do this.

However, this is just my thoughts on it.

P.S. This is the wrong forum, it should be in Single Card Discussion. :thumb:

Pros:

Stops Powers
Spreads 70/20
Eeveelution so it can get no weakness/free retreat/amd +20 HP and gets boost from Leafon Lv.X
Same Line
Water

Cons:

100 HP
Lv.X
3 NRg to attack

Hmmm Eeveelution is pretty awesome, but not the regular version. I think I prefer the version w/ Cresselia tbh.

Honestly, I think the eeveelutions are overhyped. It's got 100 hp, so lade can kill it by only flipping 2 prizes, and Mag can easily snipe it. Also, to get the benefits, you need to play Espeon and Leafeon X, and then to get those out, you need Umbreon. All of it just gets owned if there are missing pieces to the strategy. I think GG and Mortar will still dominate. Garchomp seems to be to be more viable with the X ver, but I don't think eeveelutions are gonna become BDIF decks.

probably not the best deck in the format but definitely a good deck.

Besides Eeveelutions there is going to be Leafeon/Sceptile. Plus any other variations the other Eevees might have.

DRE and Scramble will still be int he format when we get them. +20 so its 120 from Umbereon, can Ko Magmortar easy and stops powers. If we get Phoine then settting up those wont be hard since eevee searches for itself or just use mentor. Eeveelutions will be played, and can contend with any deck with the right build. Garchomp Lv.X will be the only reason Garchomp will be played.

I have to agree with what you said. Here's what I responded with in another thread that started hyping the Eeveelutions:

Me said:
It might just be me, but I can see an Eeveelutions-based deck still having trouble against GG/Mortar. Glaceon Lv.X only has 100 HP, which can be fixed by playing Espeon to up the HP by 20, correct? Glaceon Lv.X also has no energy acceleration, but that can be fixed by playing Leafeon Lv.X, right? So that leaves you with the challenge of getting those Lv.X's in play -- a problem that can be solved by playing Umbreon. But...... who's really going to try and focus on getting all of that stuff in play just to power up a single Pokemon that can't even guard that well against Gallade? If you're thinking Holon Energy WP, I'm thinking you're going to have consistancy issues getting out all of that stuff.

I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying it looks like a pretty big challenge. The whole thing can be eaten up by Lati@lock, which is something I will admit has not seen play at all this season... but with all of the Poke-Bodies Eeveelutions.dec employs, I'm sure it'll see play if needed. If only they gave Glaceon Lv.X more HP than, umm, a Chansee.

The Eeveelutions sounds really good until you really start looking at it from a realistic perspective. We've all heard about how certain Water-type Pokemon can beat Magmortar (think Empoleon or Feraligatr), but it's not always the case. And we've all heard about how certain cards (Pidgeot d, Cessation Crystal) can "stop Gardilade dead in its tracks," but again, that's not always the case. After all, just look at what won States. What Eeveelutions does is give you both strategies in a slightly diminished way -- your Water-type Pokemon doesn't have a bunch of HP and it has the ability to knock out only your opponent's Poke-Powers when it's active. Once your Glaceon Lv.X goes down, what are you going to follow it up with? With so much emphasis placed on one single card that doesn't even have 130 HP (or 110 HP if you don't count the Espeon), what happens when you're forced to bring something else up? And again, I'll say that Lati@s just kills this deck, and people will run it if they need to.

I could be wrong with everything I've said here, but I really think it need some testing before anything is set in stone.

I think people are realizing how stale the format is, and are grasping for any shimmering hope that what we saw at Cities/States won't continue at Regionals. The sad part, though, is that I feel Regionals will be exactly like States. And Nationals will be like Regionals, and so on.

I don't see Glaceon, or anything in MD hurting GG/Mag much at all. If anything occurs, a new big deck will come out of MD that will do massive damage and it will be GG/Mag/?? format until after Worlds.

Let's remember that MD helps GG/Mag too with Phione, etc, etc, just like it helps all the other decks too.

But Phoine also helos other decks. It helps Eeveelutions, alot of other decks that mite not have been playable will be, I like playing PST now if phoine is released which will make the deck so much more consitant and quicker setup. Its fun.

MD will release a few archtypes,I mean its due time for one. But Mag/G&G will still be everywhere, but now we will probably see more rogue decks which would be nice for nationals.

Rogue doesn't survive in a format like this, don't your realize that? If rogue survived and prospered, we wouldn't have people like Jimmy Ballard asking to ban Mag/GG for Regionals. We would have seen Banette and other decks do well at Cities and they would have a bigger impact at States.

Sure, there are some decent cards in MD, but for the most part, rogue decks don't come close to overpowered decks like GG/Mag and they won't do that well at States because of that.

On the issue of Phione helping Eeveelutions, I don't think that's needed at all. They are all stage 1's, and it shoudn't be hard to get out multiple stage 1's. You might play Phione with the Eeveelutions if you ran something else like Gardy/lv.X with it (not a bad idea, lol). Usually, you'd want to be attacking early with Eeveelutions. That is why I didn't think Phione would work that well with them.

Phione is a lot like Pachirisu in many ways. I could probably find a quote of someone saying the exact same thing about Pachirisu "helping other decks succeed against GG/Mortar," but I don't really care to look. In my opinion, those decks you're talking about that could become playable would have become playable in time for States through the use of Pachirisu and Claydol.

Since we have a bit of an idea of what's in Majestic Dawn, I'm not too convinced that a new archetype will come out. Eeveelutions, maybe, but other than that I just see things still struggling against GG/Mortar. We may be "due" for something good to come out, but I've been saying that we've been due for, like, over a year now. I started pointing out flaws in the game way back when hand disruption was extinguished. Of course, those were wonderful days compared to what we have now. Even though I am grateful for our format moving past the T1/T2 stuff (Mario, Kricketune), I'm still disappointed with where we are now. If I didn't have plans on going to Nationals, I probably would have quit this game (which is truly a sad thing).

Sorry, I know that's an extremely pessimistic point-of-view. Who knows though, maybe Majestic Dawn will change the format. Maybe. But even if it does, I'll still be upset that our format became decent only before Nationals. Next year I might just skip everything up until Nationals if this is the pattern I'm supposed to expect. :nonono:

I'd like to see Eeveelutions take off. I still think there are components of that deck that are very strong. Back when we first saw the translations, the first thing I suggested to my brother was to run Leafeon Lv.X as a tank, considering the Leafeon has an attack that reduces damage and the card combos well with Buffer Piece and Quagsire (to get Buffer Piece back), as well as Sunflora. I saw a beastly turn 3 tank in that card, but with the popularity of Magmortar, eh. Yeah, I can run Umbreon, but it kind of takes away from the consistency of the deck. I've always liked the Eeveelutions though, so I'd like to see someone prove me wrong by making the deck work.

Its not that rogue decks cant survive, its that people are scared to play them. If a meta had a whole lot sceptile and a few people played Gardy,Sceptile would probably be dominant in cities/states.

G&G is dominant cuz people are just playing the simplest decks posssible to win,the game isnt really bout bein 2 creative this format, its about winning with what you saw won at a tourney. Some people are tryin hard, and I give credit to them.Card pool isnt as wide as last format or the one b4 that.

a new archtype will be created,I mean Prime, youve been wrong b4 about certain things that turned out to be big.
