I'm bored so I'll post my only modified decks. The question is which one to use for regionals? Any helpful suggestions or help on decklists will be appreciated.

BlazeMortar:

3 Magmar MT
3 Magmortar SW
1 Magmortar LV.X MT
3 Torchic GE
2 Combusken GE
2 Blaziken PK
2 Blaziken GE
2 Baltoy GE
2 Claydol GE
4 Pachirisu GE

4 Celio's Network
2 Roseanne's Research
4 Felicity's Drawing
2 Team Galactic's Wager
3 Rare Candy
2 Warp Point
2 Night Maintenance

13 Fire Energy
4 Scramble Energy

I just recently built this so I'm still new to it. The strategy is to setup with Pachirisu & Claydol. After Pachirisu is KOed snipe with Mortar or Blaze GE. Use Blaze PK Firestarter to power stuff up. Wager+Claydol for disruption.

ClayGatr:

4 Totodile MT
3 Croconaw MT
4 Feraligatr MT
3 Baltoy GE
3 Claydol GE
4 Pachirisu GE
1 Plusle SW

3 Celio's Network
4 Steven's Advice
2 TV Reporter
2 Felicity's Drawing
3 Rare Candy
2 Master Ball
1 PokeNav
1 Night Maintenance
1 Warp Point

13 Water Energy
4 Double Rainbow Energy
2 Cyclone Energy

I have been using Gatr for a long time now and I am very pleased with this build. The strategy is to setup with Pachirisu and Claydol. Try to get out 2 Claydol. Attack using Feraligatr's Energy Cyclone and get energies back with Claydol's Cosmic Power and draw supporters.

Gatr Claydol is not NEARLY as good as Delcatty/Magenton w/Gatr
if ur gonna play gatr, play DM w/it.

If you play Magmortar, play Typhlosion with it instead, as Typhlosion helps a lot more - discards DREs, Multis, water nrgs - which helps a bit against gatr

I strongly disagree with that statement and I should know because I won a CC with the DM version. And the reason that is my only placing for the 07-08 season is because the only tournaments I've been to this year were 1 BR and 1 CC(I'm 19 and dont have a job). As for the Claydol version I have found myself setting up faster and more consistently than I ever did with DM. My list almost always gets 100+ damage by t3 and can consistenly do 100-140 each turn.

Oh, I'm sorry, you won a city championship with the deck? Obviously that means you're all knowing

Have you played Pachirisu w/the DM version?

idk about your list, but I've played both versions, and my DM version easily gets set up by T2-T3 and can deal a heck-of-a-lot more damage than the Claydol version

as far as which to play, it depends on the metagame, if you expect a lot of GG to be played, than play Mortar, if you expect their to be a lot more Mortar to be played, play Hurricane

Sorry if I sounded arrogant. And no I'm not all knowing but I should know something when it comes to Gatr. Its just that the Claydol version has performed better for me than the DM version. Maybe I'm just lucky, idk, but 2 Cosmic Powers followed by a Steven's for 4-6 is pretty awesome and usually ensures a KO. Even with a hand of six, 2 Cosmics+a draw card=at least 7 cards from the top of the deck. I know Magneton helps convert the deck into pure energy by discarding cards, but that wont happen until late game. I just think that Claydol is better early-mid game but DM is definately stronger late game.

ClayGatr is like Electrode EX/Metagross d(early damage but starts to lose it in the end)
Hurricane is like Metanite(it starts of kinda slow and requires a setup but once it gets going, it is hard to beat)

I am more a fan of ClayGatr over Hurricane but, Both do well against Mortar which is what matters.

Nice comparison, except ClayGatr doesn't really lose damage output late game. Yes it loses draw cards but the deck has been thined out enough by then by playing pokemon, trainers, and discarding via TVR/Felicity that doing 130 isn't hard if you can use Croconaw and/or Plusle.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Does anyone have anymore suggestions on what I should play? I'm leaning more toward Gatr at this point. I may need a little help with the Mortar list. I didn't want this thread to turn into a ClayGatr vs. Hurricane so please don't suggest for me to use DM, thank you.
