STRATEGY:Start with Weavile and collect :dark:s. After that, start using Weavile's 2nd attack (I forgot name) and do 50 along with discarding their hands to slow them down. Next, if your opponent is playing Magmortar, all you need to do is, Weavile + 2 :dark: + Lake Boundry + Stregth Charm to OHKO it. Agaist G&G, Gardevoir + Lake Boundry + Stregth Charm + 3 :psychic:. Or you could use Mew SW later on in the game because they will probably have a Gallade/Gardevoir in the discard, and G&G is weak to :psychic:, Mew SW can probably take care of them. Mew SW and Mew * will be really good because Weavile can power them up fast. Also, Mew* is good because Magmortar is weak to it.

HMMM......... Should I have more :psychic:? More :dark:? More Stregth Charm? More DRE?( IDK what to take out to +1 DRE).

I appreciate the creativity, But Weavile in G&G is just bad. The only purpose it has is to load itself up with energies since nothing else in the deck benefits from them. Most likely if you're opponent sets up the typical way Weavile may not last long enough to attack in the first place. Not to mention NEEDING a strength charm (1 out of 2 = bad odds) for the whole idea to work. Not good. Not to mention holding G&G back and slowing their process down with this strategy. If Magmortar tech is what you're worried about, tech Dugtrio or something of the like. Weavile's not really a good answer.

GG doesn't need energy accelaration so wevile is pointless and just a waist of space. It will just slow the deck down and ruin consistency. Also the wevile killing magmortar thing doesn't work because to turn into dark it has to leave it's water form and there for not getting a boost from the dark energy.

TSDMage: Thankyou for appreciateing the creativity. I can easily get out Stregth Charm with Castaway or, Scott to get Castaway to get out Stregth Charm. I wan't a tech for Magmortar that is a Water pokemon that's not weak to Lightning; I fear Pachirisu. I don't care if they KO my Weavile, I'll just send up another one!! lol. There is 4 in the deck.

Blaziken_1111: Weavile isn't just for energy acceleration. it's for Mag too. No, I wasn't planning on turning Weavile into dark. I knew that before I even made the deck. My plan was using Weavile with Stregth Charm.

I always appreciate creativity. Creativity doesn't win this game anymore and that upsets me. Yet, a creative idea, in order to work, has to have a spark, something that naturally connects 2 ore more ideas and makes them flow together with great chemistry. None of that is here. Not only that, but the idea is difficult to set up, difficult to pull off without a hitch, and hazardous to the setup of the deck's main attacker. It's just too slow, too needy, too ineffective, and worthless against anything not Magmortar for the most part. Again, if you want a tech against Mortar, Dugtrio and/or Dusknoir is your best bet and should be more than enough for Gardylade to take down Mortar (if even needed).

Like I said, I wan't a Water pokemon to beat Mortar. not that other junk that you recomended.(sorry if I sound so mean)

Then tech a Feraligtr like Ness or Alvis. Weavile is just not going to work. Why would you want to tech a random water Pokemon that doesn't help much at all rather than just use what works?

I like Weavile because he can attack for 50 and reduce your opponent's hand to 5.

Sure, but in the time it takes both of the big decks to set up, it won't matter. Weavile is slower. Focus on the draw power and Feraligatr is better. Dugtrio is better for bench protection (Dugtrio is by far the best option, IMO). Weavile, as I said, stunts the process of this deck. I appreciate the creativity, but it has no edge and isn't going to work in any competitive environment. if want something that will WORK and won't throw your deck out of whack, like I said go with Feraligatr/Dusknoir/Dugtrio. Your adding Weavile mainly for the sake of creativity, but leave the creativity to an idea that actually works well. Sorry to be harsh, but it's just the truth. Weavile's attack is nothing special, and certainly no actual reason to play him. Too much setup, my friend.

I frequently run 1-1 Weavile in my G&G deck. It's fantastic for avoiding Fighting or Psychic resistance. It's pretty cool to do Psychic Lock for 80 too....

the weavile helps set up energy
has free retreat
and is a stage 1

He can only set up energy for himself, dude. And Dark Energies are worthless to G&G. Weavile is just bad with G&G, just like it is with Mortar (people actually run that garbage).

How about this: I have a gallade on the bench with no enrgys. I collect 2 darks with weavile and attach them to my gallade. next turn, I attach a Psychic and viola!! my gallade has: 2 Dark/1 Psychic and it can now use Psychic cut:!!

Dude, you're trying to find every little meager possibility Weavile has of helping you and are completely ignoring the fact that the cons FAR outweigh the pros and Weavile ultimately does nothing but slow Gallade down. I'm sorry, but Weavile is just terrible here, there's nothing else to it. Using miniscule, individual scenarios as examples is a rather weak argument. Gallade is already quite speedy and efficient. It doesn't need this. And as I said, there's PLENTY of GOOD tech against Mortar, the last thing it needs is a Stage 1 that slows it down and needs time AND additional help just to knock out a Magmortar. It was different if you were running a 1-1 (which wouldn't work, either), but you're using FOUR of each for the line when he's really quite pointless. That's going to hurt the deck BADLY. that's 6-8 slots being used for something not helpful that could be used for better things. And ****, you don't need THAT MUCH tech against Mortar. Not only is Weavile terrible here, he's excessive. I really don't know how to explain this whole thing any better. Weavile is just terrible and halting the progress of the deck here. It's entirely excessive.

For fun purposes, sure. But this will NEVER work in a competitive environment. If you want good Mortar tech that will WORK in a competitive environment, your best options are Feraligatr, Dugtrio, and Dusknoir.

Hey guys, I just played a game on RedShark and I won with this deck. My opponent had (MadHatter):

G&G
Blastoise CG
Stantler

Well. G&G with Weavile defiantly helps. Not only is it NRG acceleration. W/Dark Engage and 2 Sp Darks, it can make it so you flip one less prize, in moments where maybe you don't have any Sp Darks. Strength Charm helps, Weavile also has Type Advantage vs. Mag as stated by Flygon before

Weavile also helps against those anti-Gallade deck pokemon like, Mismagius/Bannette because Weavile's Power turns your pokemon to dark which is what their weak to.

Gatr in G&G is so Blah,it justs a pointless thing to have, just learn how to use Gallade effectively with Sonic Blade and when to Psy Cut

Tell that to Ness and Alvis, although I'm not sure how instrumental Gatr has been to their success.

Personally though, I'd rather just use Dugtrio. So far it's all I've really needed against Mortar. But Weavile is just terrible and totally unnecessary. It will NEVER help in a competitive environment. Any wins the deck will get (which it will get some) are simply because the deck is G&G. But Weavile is the worst "tech" I've ever heard of. No "tech" needs 8 slots in a deck. That's just outrageous. Again, I'm not trying to flame anyone at all, I'm just being honest. This is just a downright terrible idea.
