Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

K. I'm IV disabled.

Would anyone like to help me to understand it?
I have had it explained to me by quite a few people, some of which over the Gym.
but i have yet to entirely grasp it all.
I know how they work and all that jazz.
but i dont know how to calculate them and check what they are.
what i reeeeeally want to know is if there is a way to check what a pokemon's IVs are as soon as they are hatched or caught, whithout me having to input any EV's or stuff like that.
is there a way to do that?
because i really dont wanna have to EV train all of my hatched pokemon to like level 25 or so to be able to check if theyre what i want or not.

help would be very appreciated, as i am quite bored and would like to get back into my pearl game!
thanks!:thumb:

Well, to check my IVs, I use Pokemon Battle Rev. Where you can battle your other teams. I make the rules says all Pokemon are Lv. 50. Then I look at their stats in battle, put them in at Serebii, and there you go. Write down the Nature of the Pokemon before the battle if you do this.

Metalkid.info is your best bet for an extremely accurate IV calc, much more so than Serebii. You can do like Psycho Pedestrian said, but it's much better to find a friend if possible, set your Pokemon to Lv 100, have a "battle" and then calculate your stats from there (once you're at Lv 100, you will always get an accurate answer). Alternatively, using Rare Candy (bought legally or cloned, doesn't matter), level up your Pokemon from 1 (if from an egg) or whatever to Lv 20 (or about 20 levels or so above whatever level they are), making sure you input each increase into Metalkid's calc. You should get another extremely accurate answer via this method. You can determine if you have at least 1 perfect IV or not by looking at the Pokemon's description; for example, "Alert to Sounds" will usually mean that Pokemon in question has a perfect IV (31) in speed. And finally, if you happen to be the math whiz, you can look up the actual formula for calculating stats and do it in your head or whatever.

thanks.
ill have to try those, they seem like they would work well.
who thought that IVs could be so dang complecated? haha
i really wish there was a way to find out what it is at lv 1 or so, without having to use other sorces (like battle revolution, or another DS), but i guess not.

What I do is find out what the Pokemon stats are at LV 50 with 31 IVs in each stat and then subtract the 31 from the stat until I get a match. This is the way I do it because the other calculators don't work for me.

awww, Moza's great post got deleted...
lol.

thanks people, this has helped a fair sum.
so now i can easily check IV's of legendary pokemon before i decide to keep them and stuff, same with stuff like eevee and hitmonlee/chan from the earlier games.
i still wish there was a way to find out what they are at level 1 though, thatd be nice.

PBR, as said before. Lv. 50 All battle. 'Nuff said.

Or use an AR, with the IV check code, saves you alot of time, and doesn't alter your game in any way. I wish I had an AR just for that.

I don't approve of AR for the most part, but that... the actually almost legitimizes it's existence. Almost.

I've got one of those, but can't get the code to work, thus forcing me into honesty. If it did work... my ethics might not alone be enough to stop me...

I don't see a problem with using it, what are you doing? seeing 6 different numbers, not altering them in any way, so I don't see anything wrong with that. Makes it nice for people who don't have a billion RC's, Emerald to clone or two DS's and games to do IV battles themselves. I thankfully have all those, but the amount of time I'd save with using that code I'd love to have it.
