So I know it's kinda early, but what do y'all think are gonna be some popular cards in the next format? Also, does anyone know what the oldest set in it will be (probably MT)?

I'm thinking Gardylade and Magmortar are gonna stay popular (since they're sooo popular right now.) I'm also guessing that Glaceon and Leafeon will be used alot, along with Garchomp (all cause of their lv. Xs.)

So, what do you think?
 
It'll be DP-on. Magmortar will get replaced with infernape. The eeveelutions aren't that good. Gardylade will probably be an ok deck, but not really usable (like metanite in the last format). I agree with you on the garchomp thing though. My guess is that the new empoleon will be very popular.
 
i think that the oldest set would be DP. it will be tough to choose our trainer line, cuz all of out good trainers/supporters will be rotated. it will also be harder to run G&G because of the lack of nrgies that are any kind and multiple. so at the beginning of the sesion will be very tough.
 
Are you sure it won't be MT on? Last change 5 sets got cut off (DX, EM, UF, DS, LM.) Wouldn't it make sense for the next change to cut off 5 sets (HP, CG, DF, PK, DP)? Also, DP was available to play last time at worlds. Should sets survive more than 2 seasons?

I am 100% positive.

Here are the format changes under POP -

Expedition-On
RS-On (3 Sets Rotated)
HL-On (4 Sets Rotated)
DX-On (3 Sets Rotated)
HP-On (5 Sets Rotated)

So anywhere from 3-5 Sets is possible, but I highly doubt that 5 sets will be rotated.

DP-On is the most logical format for next season, it'll be sort of like the "new era" of cards, like how it was RS-On initially after the Wizards sets and last non-3rd Gen. Pokemon were rotated out
 
My money is on PK-on, as PK was a compitilation of reprints, cards from different Japanese promos/decks, and cards that were first released in English (such as many of the EXs),
 
I'm 99% certain it'll be DP-on. However, given the history of format rotations, it might end up being PK-on.

DP on. why would they keep PK ? the trainers and supporters don't mesh that well and it's only 4 sets they rotate.
Eveelutions, Empoleon & Garchomp will probably the the most wanted cards. the most feared decks though will be a totally different story, I won't even guess at that.
 
DP-On....Pop 6 and above....black stars ?? and up

It will be the end of double weakness pokemon (except the DP-on cards with x2 weakness) so that means Pop5 will go bye bye and so will DRE FINALLY!!
 
I predict DP-on, PO 6-on, and DP blackstar promo 1-on.

We'll lose so many great cards: Cessation Crystal, Windstorm, Celio's Network, Scott, Great Ball (for Fishing Engined decks) and DRE. I hope at lease DRE gets reprinted soon.
