Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Empoleon MD

I didn't say it would necessarily do anything, it may. But i know that someone will end up playing it, i may end up playing it at Nats, i have thought about playing Empoleon MD at Nats, but we will have too see

this card will become an archtype.....
think about it...most pokemonin the format have 130- HP.
you can spread to 2 pokemon for 30, then follow up with a KO for 100
run luvdisc as your starter to heal your pokemanz if you hit heads on group surf.
im definitley running this card.

Luvdisc seems like a better play than pachi. Basically do the same thing as pachi and can heal your bench if u hit it with empy.

hmmmmm that doesnt rly make sense. in the middle of the game while your pummeling with empoleon, youre going to retreat for a weakling luvdisc and hope you have a stadium in play to heal 10 damage from your dudes. you just basically gave up doing major damage with empoleon for 1 turn, and said to the opponent "here take a free prize". and youre giving up the extra 10 hp and definitive 3 pokemon that pachi gets.

theres this card called scramble energy.
i hear it counts as 3 energy when your down on prizes.
but maybe thats just a rumor....

luvdisc also gets basics incase you didnt know...
it searches for the amount of basics as the amoutnof your opponents pokemon in play.
so they get 3 basics with pachi, you get 4.
luvdisc>pachi in an empleondeck...

tech? r u guys kidding? It's a 1000 times better then the D/P, and the Lv. X combined.

You heard it here first:
Empoleon will be BDIF.

call me crazy but i would think of making an empoleon md + super unown deck. fill your bench with useful unowns but make sure to use the one that lets you move damage counters from your unowns to the defending pokemon (i think that is unown z). that way if you miss your flip on empoleons' second attack what you are really doing is storing damage to be transfered to the enemy. plus you could still use unown e or unown g as tools if need be.

Dusknoir would rip it apart.

I already have stated in past posts and you notice MY decks, I am going to play EmpoDp/DP5. With Eeveelutions, Quagsire, Aerodactyle, OR whatever. He is awesome, BOTH versions are VERY playable. I have Played Empo for a LONG time, Even when people have gave up on him, SO Of course he will be in MY Nats deck come June!!!

Too bad empoleon MD is 5,000 times better than empy DP.

Are the spoilers that used to be on Beach still available anywhere? I know the entire new set is not up but at least access to part of it would be nice.

1-1 Alakazam, G/G to GGs annoying and stupid tech.

Hits G/G for 80, so after a few 30s spread by Empoleon it can KO them easily.

Psy Lock shuts it off, which lets the GG player do a combo of several different things. Gallade OHKO, or Dusknoir+ warp it away. It's not that hard to get around it at all. Empoleon is a deck I've played in the past, and unless it runs Claydol it's extremely slow and usually spreads damage slowly. Though different lists have different goals, the most effective I've seen was a list that had an Absol start which I played against that actually played Alakazam 2-2. GG completely outspeeds Empoleon and once the Psy Lock starts, it only gets harder.

And instead of Alakazam, why not just play Cess.(if you run Speed Empoleon/no powers) to shut everything down. Though there's always that chance Pachi might pop up.

Re-read Psychic Lock.

EDIT: Re-read Alakazam's poke-power too. You have one of the two mistaken.

Psylock stops powers during opponent's turn. Alakazam's power isn't used during that time :/ It's just like Ho-oh in that regard.

I think the better comparison for Empoleon (MD) would be Exeggutor d (HP), rather then Empoleon (DP). Exeggutor spreads 30 to two pokemon at once, but takes a trick or two to start doing so (Scramble or something). Exeggutor has a powerful alternate attack that can clean house. Exeggutor has a useful pre-evolution (not in the same way as Empoleon, as you never really want Exeggcute to attack, but in that it'll still help you set up with Holon's Castform while Prinplup very obviously sets up Empoleon).
The thing is, Empoleon has a type which is quite abuseable. Did Eggs? I don't seem to recall Fighting Weakness on a lot last year; I remember Fire weakness and Colorless. Empoleon has more HP then Eggs as well. Empoleon also is plenty effective with only two energies and using a third to clean up, while Eggs wanted three energy attack first, then two energy attack to clean up (My, that sounds backwards) :/

Gardevoir's Psychic Lock isn't too much of a problem to Empoleon, I'd think. Heck, the good Empoleon lists shouldn't be too reliant (note:This does not mean does not use) on powers at all, especially if Kabutops is around.
