Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Phione/Claydol: GREAT for the game!

I'm glad to see Phione/Claydol in for format right now. Like Jirachi HL/Pidgeot, they allow for basically any stage 2 line to be consistant, which will make for numerous playable decks, as opposed to just GG and Magmortar at the begining of the season. Any deck running 4 Phione, 2-2 Claydol, and 4-2-4 of any stage 2 line will be fast, consistant, and have a chance of overpowering Gallade late game when all the prizes are flipped (Psy lock and Cross Cut for 60 wont cut it vs most stage 2s). Look for a large variety of decks at nats this year!

Yeah, but by far not everyone will play Dusknoir. Altho, with that new Dusknoir coming, those words might be in vain.

Too bad Swoop! Teleporter is gone - Start with Pachi, Call for family, Swoop for Phione, evolve. That would be nice. Now, you'll have to use 2 bench spots for Pachi and Phione (unless you let Phione get knocked out).

Will players play a 4/2 Pachi/Phione line to try and start with Pachi and Call for Phione, or will we see less Pachi as players try to go straight for Phione? I'm excited to try it out!

I just wish there were some way to get out of Psychic Lock.
That, in my opinion, is the biggest problem in the format right now.
It just hurts so many things.

Pachi down! Call up!

I think the spread dmg of the new Empoleon, alng with Phione to speed it up, will beable to break the format. Water kills Mags and the spread dmg weakens the GG.

As I have said before, Phione with Call Energy is far superior to playing it with Pachi. Saves you a bench spot AND an energy drop, and the energy can be used after turn 1 as opposed to Pachi.

I agree with Pop though, Psychic Lock is definitely overpowered. Unown G and that sort of card should be able to stop it.

To a point? TO A POINT? I'm the smartest man on EARTH! You should FULLY agree!

OBJECTION!

you have no proof of that... and either way, by to a point, I meant the part where it's so good to pick on Gallades, it's just that all of the pokemon should be useful for something good... (and they made Gallade in the TCG so cheap that people decide to pick on it, if a card's so good because of that, then why doesn't everyone stop playing those cards... that would solve the Gallade problem so people won't have to point out how anything works against Gallade...)

Wishing Engine ftw!

True, this opens up a lot of decks, but there are very few stage 2 decks that aren't already played that can abuse it. Garchomp could use it...but other than that I'm drawing blanks.

Yup. You get my vote. Too bad you arent able to use those brains to get cars out of ditches. Seriously though, I think these cards are going to make a big impact in the game as well. Next round of tournaments will be really interesting. Cant wait to see what the great minds like Big Chuck come up with.

if you think psychic lock hurts the game wait till we get glaceon LV X add that with the Call energy, and you'll see so many new decks comming... i mean aerodyctal with shiftry ex's body!!!1 how cool is that. And the new scizor is not bad at all!

Chuck lost to Flygon ex! Don't listen to his silly advice.

Phione will change alot, i don't think Pachi will see as much play.
