For those who haven't yet heard, Pokemon Platinum will be released in Japan in Fall 08, and possibly be in NA by Spring 09. Platinum is supposed to be to Diamond and Pearl, what Emerald was to Ruby and Sapphire. This means there will be some changes to the game from D/P. For example, in Emerald Wallace was the Champion, Juan was the 8th Gym, You could catch BOTH Groudon and Kyogre, along with Rayquaza, it had the Battle Frontier, and it also had a special event to get a Mew.

So what new features do you think this new Pokemon game will bring?
What is known thus far is that the game will feature Giratina in its Orgin form, to see a pic of this Click Here and look at the images
I also suspect that you'll be able to get Dialga and Palkia.

Well, we already know for a fact that we have Giratina's Origin Form, and we know what it looks like, and we know we'll be getting Shaymin's Sky Form, but we don't know for a 100% confirmed fact that it is (if it is, I'm trading it to my Daimond version, because while cute, it's nowhere near the level of kawaiiness that makes me love the real Shaymin). And perhaps they'll do something with Arceus and Darkrai too.

What I'm certain of, though, is that the church in Hearthome isn't going to be useless glitch-rumor fodder and a time-waster like it is now. They're going to do something with it, and I'll bet you anything it involves getting rid of that cave Giratina currently lives in and allowing us to catch it there.

And, based on the pics, unless they're really misleading, I think you only get to catch either Dialga or Palkia, and either your rival or Rowan's assistant simply defeats the other. Unless, of course, it's like it was in Emerald where they leave and you have to go to them. Oh, that would be interesting, one in West Sinnoh and the other in East. It'll be one of those two, I gaurantee. I mean, would you want to face off against those two one after another, or at the same time? No, I don't think so, particularly immediately after you have to deal with Cyrus.
 
I agree with EeveeLover929. You probably leave them and catch them later like in emerald, but not until after beating the elite 4.
 
I doubt they'll make the church of any use. It would make lot of controversy. I hope that some new routes open and some new stuff like some caves and mansions.
 
Unless it was changed from the japanese, its described in-game as a place where different cultures meet and eggs hatched there are from "Foreign Building" not a church.

... wah? That makes no sense, my five year old cousin who's never even been to a church except for when his grandpa died (other side of the family) agreed that it was clearly a church.
 
This is just a little common sense on my oart.
The main person in one of the pc is wearing a blue jacket witht he red hat still...
This looks so tacky, but I think it might be a feature to where you can customize him with new stuff like other clothes.
 
As far as I knwo you had to bring over a Regigigas you got from the 11th movie when it come out.
Which means we might not be able to get it at all unless they give us the Pokemon or change the event for us.
BTW I hope the game is harder!
 
i hope so to. also, there is a 3D area on top of sky pillar called torn world. that might be an interesting place to train (i am addicted to training, so there better be strong pokemon there).
 
Refering to Eeveelover's post, I actaully think fighting both of them in a double battle would be pretty cool.
It'd be something new, fighting two legends and trying to catch them both.
A greater challenge can be fun. o=

There's no guaruntee the torn world will have it's own wilds.

Well, if you want proof: Check your town map. If you zoom out the right way, it is clearly describes it as a "place where foreign cultures meet". The other proof is just to hatch an egg there. I hatch most of my eggs there, it's such a cool place, as I said in my previous post.

From a player's perspective, what I would most like to see is move tutors, starter pokémon rewards (like in Emerald) and such to patch up the gaps in Diamond and Pearl.

Both the Regis and the legendary birds would be a welcome addition. Extra moves would also be awesome. I'm excited enough about Shaymin anyway!

You can't catch pokemon in a double wild encounter though o_O Choice time! Knockout one, catch one. Actually sounds like something Nintendo might do!
