It's not that good in unlimited because it stops only pokepowers and bodies. Most of the cards in unlimited have pokemon powers. Thye are different.
 
If something stops both Poke-Powers AND Poke-Bodies, then it stops Pokemon Powers.
This is in the Compendium.

It's not bad in Unlimited-- I mean attach a Cessation Crystal to a Cleffa and maybe a Call Energy and you have set-up.

But all they have to do to counter Cessation Crystal is to Windstorm it or play Aerodactyl ex (Sandstorm) and Gust of Wind and it's gone.

It stops a lot of Unlimited decks to dependent on powers, but it doesn't stop them from using trainers.
So in a Metagame with decks based on powers it will do very well in.
 
The only reason it wouldn't see more play is that Plume ex gets past it. It was still considered a trainer card when it was printed so Plume would still stop it.
AND with everybody and their mom playing 4 Gust of Wind, you can just as easily gust out the active.
 
It's a little better if you use it with pokemon that stops pokemon powers like Muk (Fossil) and Magby (Neo Genesis), then you can play it down, but you have to play heavy power denial.
 
It's too easily countered by Gust of Wind, and if you end up going first, it just won't matter at all.

Fossil Muk is EASILY the superior play. Goop Gas Attack is actually just as good, if not better.

Sure is Muk easy to play...but Bodies to stop is not Bad
And i hate gusts on my benchend muk...
I think a Ceffa with Shard is so much better ...

Sebastian Lugo is good good
All players ar using now any EX Pokes...


I think Aerodactyl from Majestic Dawn is not so playable...

Cessation crystal is more for Arithmthic Decks..

Its a nice STarter Card more not ...
 
Muk stops Pokemon Powers. Poke-Powers and Poke-Bodies are sub-groups of Pokemon Powers. It's a slight and stupid change in wording, but Muk DOES shut both Powers and Bodies off.
