Other than Nats...

Just a general topic for things you'll be doing at Origins and the surrounding area (i.e. Columbus, OH proper) that doesn't have to do with Pokemon. Me, personally: I'll be volunteering for another gaming company (I'd say who, but that's be advertising on the boards) helping run tourneys and demos all days except on the day of Nats. Anyone else have any other gaming plans other than Pokemon?

A few years back, we decided that the only time we're playing Pokemon is on Saturday.

So we've got a full schedule of other games on Wed, Th, Fri, and Sunday.

Definately plan on checkin out other games! I don't know wat 2 expect seeing that this will b my first time seeing orgins all the way through!

There is a lot to do. We usually try a new game or two and then also play some games that we usually only play at home against family. Last year, my hubby and sons played a large Heroscape battle and my then 6 year old was on the winning team. Bragging rights all year long! And this year, we are helping out at the TFG and TCG booths. Fun!

If you just need a break from the Convention Center but do not want to head far then I say walk over to the North Market. It's a little food court, farmer's market, etc. all rolled into one. There is usually some sort of entertainment too though it might not be your taste (the last time we went someone was singing opera and my kids made some great faces!). If you have an extra day or have family with you that isn't interested in the entire convention then head to the Columbus Zoo. It is one of the best. You definitely need a car to get to it though as it is in the northwest suburbs. Easton or Polaris for shopping will interest some as well.

Where exactly is the North Market? That might be something to do in my off time......in addition to my yearly tradition of getting a Frappucino from the Starbucks at the Arena!

There is a Starbucks much nearer now, right up High Street from the convention center. Longer hours also, I believe.

Everything you need to know about North Market...

The pizza and ice cream places are great. So is the deli (HUGE sandwiches).

The North Market is only 2 or 3 blocks from the Convention Center. Exit the CC and cross High St. at Vine or Spruce and walk down either of these until you see it. It isn't far at all and there are so many yummy choices - pizza and ice cream as The Gorn mentioned plus a juice/smoothie place, Indian, Mozart's bakery, sushi, popcorn, etc. Plus there are some produce stands and some grocery items which might interest those staying at hotels in the areas.

FLUXX~ plz? and MTG i'm signed up for the sealed Draft Friday night.
i gotta remember to bring my DCI card.

MtG maybeh, i will have to see.

Their annual ppv Night Of Champions will be playing at the hooter 11 miles away. I know me and afew buddies are going so if anyone is also interested ill send along the exact adress

i'm playing pokemon, then heading to nashville for the rest of the week and 4th of july =)

One big thing ill be doing Thursday is having fun demoing the pokemon TFG. Its gonna be fun because instead of decks i get to play with great figures made my just incredible artist. :)
