Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

would GGsurvive next format?

PLOX will lose DRE. This alone cripples the deck.

Not to mention the fact that a stronger and faster deck, AKA Kingdra, will be coming out next format.

And the #2 deck, AMU, type-matches PLOX.

If they reprint DRE, PLOX might stand a chance, but if they don't, it won't be that great. Kingdra will replace it and AMU will replace Empoleon.

Yes, it will survive, but it will no longer be the #1 deck. GG/Plox can still be played using some sort of energy acceleration, but of course, this slows down the build-up of the deck.

btw I don't think Kingdra will take GG's place. It will be a strong archtype, but it really doesn't seem like Kingdra will take 60% of the top cut decks. Same is with AMU - too easy to counter.

Good Luxray deck beats both Kingdra and AMU. Any other deck has good chances against Luxray, even Lv.X decks (except for AMU and Eeveelutions) can play around the body. So Luxray alone is a reason that a metagame with Kingdra/AMU at the same position like GG/Magmortar (before MD) or GG/Empoleon (since MD) is impossible.

Loss of DRE could really hurt GG and so does loss of scramble. And few decks surrvive after a rotation and if they do they won't be in TOP5.

GG will still be a good deck without T2 Psychic Lock.

Will Telepass stop being the best Power in the game?

Will Gallade lose its amazingly powerful attacks?

Will it stop being great to have both of these things, plus a brilliant LV X in the same Pokemon line?

GG won't dominate like it did, mostly because there will be other decent choices around, but it will still be a very good deck.

it might be good, but it won't be fast enough, just slow enough where it is just like a normal deck.

Without Scramble and DRE<,GG/PLOX recover from a prize loses is very low and T2 PCUT/PLOX is what the deck able to be so deadly.

Telepass is pretty good,no doubt, but cosmic power is the most used power in the game.hands down.

Yea if you sac all your pokes to charge it up just so it can be koed next turn.

Yea it has a good X,thats double weak to pixies, which is faster than them.

GG will be around, but it wont dominate like it did this season,But a decent deck at best.

I don't think GG will be good next format but I don't think the pixies will be as faster because they will get knocked just as easy and they may not even be as fast.

I think that without DRE then G&G/Plox just loses all value, unless Togekiss would be played to speed up energy acceleration.

It'll be Kingdra and Empoleon next year. Without DRE/Scramble PLOX(and GG) will lose what has already been said many times in this thread. Though MAG(nezone) and Garchomp will be good next season(still testing MAG(nezone) though), but Kingdra will be a very hard match-up for both of them.

Their basic LV.Xs,with the ball engine and the release of poke radar, they can setup pretty fast since their all are in synergy and retreating early game wont hurt. The deck wont have alot of lines besides the Pixies and maybe a tech for Luxray and Mewtwo X.It may even play Luxray itself which wouldnt hurt consistancy.

They will beat PLOX Im pretty sure about that matchup.

I assume Energy Patch will be a staple in the next format.

Don't forget everything loses DRE, which, yes, does shift the balance of power towards those that require less energy to attack, i.e. Kingdra.

Luxray isn't that great a Lv. X counter, you're better off just playing something that's good in the first place.

It probally can beat plox but you are going to be regularly attaching one energy per turn just like plox. The only pixies that really do damage turn two require two energies and you would have to either have the same number of cards in your hand as you opponet or have to have started with uxie and have uxie lv. X. Mespirit Lv. X obviously will not be attacking by turn two or maybe even turn 5. So depending on who goes first By the time you knock out their first pokemon they can have a gardevoir or gallade with three energies on it all ready and after that first pixie is gone it will be pretty hard to come back. Even if the AMU player goes first uxie can't use zen blade the next turn so even if you do knock out thier starter they can freely move up thier ralts and not worry about being knocked out and just evolve into gardy or gallade next turn and knock out your uxie. The Same thing goes for mespirit if you had the same number of cards in your hand as your opponet to knock out the starter. So it's not just an auto win against the few people who will be playing plox next season. They have just as good of a chance as the AMU player. And if plox can do that to AMU how will AMU match up against other tiers next season?

With DRE and Scramble gone, of course it's going to slow it down. I'm sure that's been said a bunch already.

And, isn't Energy Patch a flip?

Plox won't be as good anymore nwxt season. but that won't stop its devoted followers from trying to kick a dead horse

Togekiss will be an extremely vital tech in any successful DP-On GG/Plox build IMO.
I think Plox will still be good, but hitting that Togekiss at the right time is what will make the deck. Being accelerated by 3-6 energy in one turn is HUGE in such a deck.
