Possible PLOX Comeback after Rotation?

Alright, now I know that many people are claiming the PLOX will "die" after the rotation, due to the fact that DRE and Scramble will be going out. So, they obviously don't have the energy acceleration that they used to, so I was thinking about possibly teching in a 2-0-2 Togekiss for the acceleration? It may work, but downsides are waste of 2 Rare Candys, deck space, and your not guaranteed to get the energy you may need. Thoughts?

no. reasons, toooooooo slow. u cant get both gallade/gardy and the togekiss. 2-1-2 would be better but nah. it wont work.

will not work, it would take such a long time to get those nrgy that they need, so it won't be fast enough. and when u get set up, your opponent might already have taken 2-4 prizes, and u might not be able to make the comeback.

Exactly. I was just throwing out some ideas. Just getting some opinions, And I agree with both of you. It is way too slow!

There are plenty of energy acceleration options still available in the current DP- on batch of cards. The reason they were not used is they are not as good as DRE and Scramble. A single Leafeon Lvl X could power the deck mid-game. It won't be as fast as it was, but nothing else is going to be either. Speed is not the main concern with losing Scramble and DRE, though. Loss of resorces when something gets KO'd will become more a factor than having to wait until turn 3 to start attacking.

Why would you want it to survive?? It made the format stale and dull since it was created. Be glad now people will have to take more thought and skill to play decks next season.

I think it will still be a good deck without DRE and scramble. The powers and attacks are still insanly good, and it's so versitle. The rotation of DRE and Scramble is probably the best thing that can happen, since it will still be a good, playable deck, but it will not be "broken" any longer.

If anything, the energy accel would have to be regirock w/ stark mountain. However I still don't think it will work

Now did I ever say I wanted it to come back to life? I think not.... I am finally happy that it will be gone! Now people can actually use their heads instead of saying, "Aw, my ranking sucks. Oh yea, theres always PLOX...."

It'll be stronger then ever :/
And Togeksis just sucks, there are so many accelerators, and togekiss is probably the worst one in this deck^^

lol togekiss

it wont be bad but it wont be good either. It'll probably just be used by all the noobs that used it this season, because they won't be able to afford amu. (the new begfriend deck)

regirock and/or stark mountain only helps out gallade but not gardevoir; unless you tech in multi energy. deck will probably need at least 14 fighting to ensure that there are always fighting energy in discard pile.

If poké-power disabling decks are used less, Telepass becomes a considerably better poké-power. I'm leaning towards a 2-2 Gardevoir LvX structure. Bring Down and teleportation are much better than psychic lock without special energies. Togekiss, IMO is a good idea but it depends how the metagame shapes out.

Bronzong is where I'm looking first, makes it easier to bring down Claydol and/or anything with a poké-power. Bronzong's one energy attack means you can save energy drops for your Gallades. If Magmortar sees more play and Gallade varients less, its weakness/resistance is very well laid out.

Gardy/Empoleon also springs to mind. Empoleon and Prinplup's low energy spread attacks mean the energy can be better spent on Gardevoir to bring down what you've reduced.

Telepass/wager is still potent, even if there are no double rainbows to get the power lock fast enough. GG's biggest fear should be decks that can KO a main attacker FAST and waste the energy attachments they needed, such as Scizor if it played Multi or Call.

2-0-2 or even 1-0-1 Togekiss makes a HUGE difference in the speed of this deck for DP-On.
Sadly, your first Gardy will most likely be manually powered but by turn 4 you can usually drop a Togekiss and steal 3-6 energy while your at it fast.

no comeback for this deck,I mean manual and tryna control energy wont work for this deck.the deck will ave to play 15-18 energy just to accomplish this Kiss drop to maybe 3-5 energy alot of the time. Its gonna be bait since Dusknoir wont lose its effectiveness so Kiss drops will onyl make them shuffle the pokes you powered.

Its dying,slowly but surely.

Even if it could work, AMU, Kingdra and Magnezone will make it un playable.
Why should Kingdra have such a good matchup against Plox? Only because it is faster? That's again the point of energy problems, but in case this is solved, Kingdra can be beaten easily once the Psychic Lock is established. They'll run out of cards without claydol and can't even do 60 per turn.

Magnezone has resistance, but is very dependant on powers. Don't see a favorable matchup here, too. I don't see Magnezone as archtype anyway until the set after Legends Awakened will released and the Super Connectivity Magnezone is available.

The card that really srews up Plox is still Dusknoir. It needs DRE too, but if Plox can solve the problem in some way, Dusknoir also can do so.

I don't see the fact that Magnezon needs powers hurting it to much against plox.....

All it needs to do is get a few sp metal on it and tank. Would you REALLY keep ploxing a Magnezone with resistence and metal nrg on it? GL with that, as I don't think you will get very far.

As for Kingdra, its soooooooooooo much faster then Plox, and all it needs to do is save a bunch of energy in the discard to one shot a Gardy when it comes active.
