Complete list of Worlds competitors per country/age group/total (incl. %)

Anyone who knows me knows I like keeping lists, so here's the new one I came up with ;)

Based on the Worlds invites listed on the OP website, which I believe is now pretty much complete. I listed all the competitors who are going per country, starting with the country with the most invites to the country with the least amount of invites. There are 27 countries with invitations, out of which 25 are represented at Worlds. The invites are presented as Junior/Senior/Master = Total. In case you're interested, I also listed the total amount of invites, and the % of invites used.

Scroll down for the total amount of invites used and awarded per age group and in total.

USA

28/30/34 = 92 (out of 102 = 90%)

Japan

4/8/7 = 19 (out of 19= 100%)

Germany

4/6/8 = 18 (out of 24 = 75%)

Netherlands

4/5/7 = 16 (out of 21 = 76%)

Norway

3/7/4 = 14 (out of 19 = 74%)

Denmark

4/5/4 = 13 (out of 16 = 81%)

Canada

4/4/5 = 13 (out of 18 = 72%)

Italy

4/3/6 = 13 (out of 18 = 72%)

UK

4/3/5 = 12 (out of 15 = 80%)

Finland

3/5/4 = 12 (out of 17 = 71%)

France

5/1/3 = 9 (out of 15 = 60%)

Mexico

1/2/5 = 8 (out of 14 = 57%)

Argentina

2/3/3 = 8 (out of 10 = 80%)

Australia

2/3/3 = 8 (out of 16 = 50%)

Brazil

2/2/3 = 7 (out of 8 = 88%)

Belgium

1/3/3 = 7 (out of 9 = 78%)

Switzerland

1/1/3 = 5 (out of 7 = 71%)

Sweden

3/1/1 = 5 (out of 8 = 63%)

Philippines

1/2/1 = 4 (out of 9 = 44%)

Czech Republic

1/1/2 = 4 (out of 6 = 66%)

Austria

1/1/2 = 4 (out of 6 = 66%)

New Zealand

1/1/1 = 3 (out of 6 = 50%)

Malaysia

1/1/1 = 3 (out of 7 = 43%)

Slovenia

1/0/0 = 1 (out of 6 = 17%)

Chili

0/0/1 = 1 (out of 2 = 50%)

Portugal

0/0/0 = 0 (out of 6 = 0%)

Malta

0/0/0 = 0 (out of 4 = 0%)

TOTAL

85/98/116 = 299

And then finally the total percentages of the used invites:

Juniors: 85/128 = 66%
Seniors: 98/137 = 72%
Masters: 116/143 = 81%

Total: 299/408 = 73%)

Pretty good turnout, I would say!

They aren't official and no we don't know. I've heard that all the invites in the U.S. will be used but Michael P. so I think there is still some updating to be done as well.

In Brazil things are wrong.

On Juniors only Renan will attend, seniors only Vitor will attend and on masters only me, so far. I dont know why all those names are bold, no clue.
So i guess its 3 out of 8, 37,5%.

Perhaps the trickle down of the Travel award had to do something with it???
According Brazil Nationals.
And perhaps people worked on a way to attend without you knowing about it, very good possible.

two Kyle S in USA Masters?

I thought that Luke A (UK seniors ) was going and that Faisal K (UK Masters) was not.

I was hoping for more than 128 players in masters, or rather for the 8th swiss round that the 129th player triggers. That extra swiss round makes tie-breakers much less important. Either way all the X-2s make the top32.

@Lia: This topic Guille posted is a complete misunderstanding. He received same papers as me, only the invite, not the trip. I already contacted Angela Durand from pokémon USA, and the trip will not passdown as the winner didnt write a letter telling that he wont attend on time, its late for this.
About my information, we have a brazilian forum, which nearly all players talk, including the persons that wont attend worlds, thats why i know all these infos. Only Lucas from senior might have a chance to go, he's still waiting for the visa interview.
But anyway, we'll have so far 3 brazilians on grinders so far (2 senior and 1 master), if Lucas goes, he's legal guardian will also attend (2 masters and 2 seniors total).

I think there should be a serious sanction for this player, sorry but it's not nice if you get a trip and don't inform the "giver" you cannot use it.

And perhaps a requirement next season for the Brazilian Nationals players, if they don't have a Visa and win the Nationals the trip will go to the next person in line.
Isn't it that way in Mexico??

Lia, thats why i'm so angry about this. We have 2 invites and 1 paid trip LOST this year.
I'm 100% with you on this about the visa, but remember that we live in a so called third world country, so only a few may have the visa.

Allan

I fear Masters might not break the 128 player mark, but just barely... Unless POP hasn't bolded a lot of the players yet who are going.

Remember, this is based purely on the list on the OP website. Any mistakes on that list, you had better email POP directly. I know I emailed them a few times with corrections!

Yup, thats exactly the way in Mexico, they show me a visa or they dont get a paid trip, as simple as that, I am through with "I have an interview next month" or " I know a guy who can get me one in no time". The day of the event, if you cant show me a Visa, you dont get a trip (with obvious exceptions of guys I have seen their visas, like Josue and Pablo's).

I think it will be handled like that with Brazil next year, but that is just my thinking, nothing official there.

I am not 100% sure but if you get a Visa ( a real one not the VWP most Europeans use) you will have it for lifetime.
I do have one and it allows me to travel to the USA and stay for MAX 3 months, and stay only so no permission for working (that's another "visa").
Doesn't it work that way for each other country the same way, I would think so.

in switzerland masters... there are only 2 going...
1 didn't "get holidays". So he can't go because he has to work...
sadly :frown:

Lia: with my visa i can stay only 3 months too, as i use tourist visa.
Its valid for 5 years, then you have to ask for a new one (used to be 10 years though)

Hello! I am from Argentina, i am really bad for read this from a near country about a player than earn a trip and he can`t assist and another that want to go and don`t have the money for, that is really bad for the OP of Brasil, PUI don`t have the foul. I got the VISA this year for 10 years! Yes maybe i have lucky with only 21 years old to have it, but well a lot of players lose time or maybe don`t know that they need some papers to go to USA and attend Worlds. Seeya!
