birds

Have you ever had a bird swope down at you
Nope, haven't had that happen. Have you?

One time I had a bird deposit its feces (politically correct way to say that? lol) on my hat.... I didn't appreciate that. But I guess that is better than having it in my hair >_< eww...

Yes.
Eagle River, Wisconsin.
I caught a small Northern Pike and got it onto the boat and off the hook.
Some hawk (not an eagle) comes down and steals it right off the deck of the boat.

We have 2 pet birds, and neither are flighted, so they can't dive bomb us, however they do like to *** a lot. It's just something you get used to.

Well, a few days ago I was outside and got too close to a nest that had 4 baby birds in it. The mother came and ran into me twice.

It didn't swoop at me per se, but the building I work at has a lot of windows. One day I hear a loud thump - loud as lightning - on one of the windows. I joined the small group around the window to see what had happened. We saw a duck lying on the ground twitching. Luckily I work on the ground floor and the duck waddled away a few minutes later.

Have you ever had a bird swope down at you

yes. Usually it means they have a nest nearby. This spring a Brewer's Blackbird swooped past me several times. This was in front of the high school. The ones you really have to worry about are the birds of prey. They have some sharp talons.

Birding is one of my hobbies. Birds have a wide range of odd behavior. I love the story of the bird grabbing the fish off the boat.

I was at Sea World in San Diego a few years ago, and they have one exhibit where you can buy a cup fish to toss into the sea lion habitat for them to catch. They tell you to keep your hand over your cup at all times because the birds will take the fish right out of it. Sure enough, just as I moved my hand to take a fish out and throw it in, a seagull came right in and pretty much slammed into me. When I recovered, the fish in my hand was gone.

I used to have a friend who lived 2 doors down from me, when I was around the age of 10. I once was walking from my house out to theirs, and a mockingbird, widely regarded as one of the meanest birds, came down on me as I passed underneath at tree. It pecked me in the head, and I started to yell and run to my friend's house, while the bird pecked at me and repeatedly attacked me until I was within the protection of their home.

A few hours later, when I had to LEAVE my friend's house, I was not expecting the bird to still be there. However, within 5 seconds of me walking outside, I was once again being pecked in the back of the head, all the way until I got back inside my house.

It was pretty funny.

THE BIRDS ARE ATTACKING!!!!1!!11!!!one11!!
This is why i don't go outside...

But i have had a bird **** on me... i was on a walk... really freaking gross. i never wore that shirt again, because i convinced myself it was cursed.... : /

I was throwing a 3:16 Baby Wake when an osprey tried to dive bomb it. I burned it in and the osprey dove at me trying to get the lure. It left after that, but it was freaking scary. Ever seen osprey talons? My cousin was using an Osprey swimbait when the same osprey snatched it out of the water. He got the lure back but it was trashed. Needless to say, we don't really fish that lake anymore.

I had a pheasant swoop down and crash into my window during the bird flu outbreak. Pheasants traditionally do not live anywhere near where I live so suffice to say this was quite a shock.

A bird came at me once, but I saw it coming so I used my amazing reflexes and Judo chopped that bird outa here.
It soon recovered and came after me yet again.
Me and that bird had the battle of the century.
I won.

When I was younger...

My family was at SeaWorld in SoCal and I had a seagull STEAL my $7 hamburger out of my hands AS I WAS TAKING A BITE!!!
