The most trivial topic ever(shuffling)

I know your opponent shuffling/cutting your deck is entirely legal, but should you be able to dictate how the shuffle your deck? This seems like an odd complaint, but people like to 'bend' shuffle my deck, that is, traditional shuffling fashion, which tends to bend my cards and make them less valuable for selling and trading. This really annoys me, as a player without a lot of cash, who can't afford to have any cards ruined. You can usually pick out the 'bend' shufflers, as most of their deck's cards are bent and curling. I really hate it when they shuffle my cards this way, but usually they just do it anyway and ignore me. There are plenty of ways to shuffle. Couldn't people at least have a little say in this?

Um yeah, they are your cards. Or maybe ask a judge to shuffle? Whatever, I don't think anyone should mind as long as you are polite.

For me bad shuffling is a shuffling where all the cards are bent.

Bad shuffling example:

Flip the cards so that they are sleeve face up or face down, and use the thumbs to brush the corners up on two mirrored ends so that they ruffle together and are pushed together for a shuffle. This tends to cause creasing in the middle of the card and I see a lot of people shuffle this way.

That kind of shuffler may be considered a bad shuffler.

I prefer the slide method, where I slide the bottom left corner of a deck with the top right corner of a deck. It performs the same leafing that a traditional shuffle would do because of the added air in between the sleeves. And it doesn't bend the cards.

I know what your talking about and I got remove from a tournament once for threating the other player that did that to my cards. If you even call it a threat here is what I said. "Now get out your **** check book and buy me all the cards you just destroyed." The funnier part is that I was the one that called the judge to the table. Although this does happen its legal and as long as there are people that stack there deck people are going to do it. Why most you really stack it's a children's card game. How lame can some people really be?

^^ yeah, I shuffle that way, every once in a while I break a sleeve or bend the corner of one but that's ok.

If you are worried about your opponent "bend shuffling" your cards, call over a judge and explain the reason why you don't want your cards shuffled that way. I'm sure they'll understand and either ask the opponent to shuffle a different way or shuffle themselves. Just because they are judges doesn't mean they don't care about keeping cards in good condition.

And with some of those shuffling techniques, it all depends on the person doing the shuffling and the pressure/bend they apply. I for instance cut my deck in 2 then shuffle like regular cards, i use enough pressure where it shuffles correctly and keep the cards in good condition, but NONE of my cards have ever been perma bent from play.
