Scorpio! (back from the dead)

l to the ol, for a minute there I was offended. A tiny tear was even forming around the corner of my right eye.

("Flawless" would've meant good. Like in Mortal Kombat when you defeat an opponent without getting hit and then the invisible announcer yells out 'FLAWLESS VICTORY!" and you feel so good inside for being such an efficient killer.)

Something I was just thinking about is how surreal it would be to play Mirror, since in addition to the usual craziness of any mirror match, the Gligar line resists itself, plus buffer versus buffer would be weird (any of them, from Gyarados to Shedinja to Mime to Venomoth).

I doubt you'd actually be playing many Mirrors unless this does take on the popularity of Flariados, but it would definitely be an unusual game and worth a good "lol" if encountered.

I built a version of Gliscor yesterday and it is good. I did a 4-3-1 Gliscor X, 3-3 Gyradoes, 2-2 Claydol, 1-1 Mewtwo X (AMU tech) and a single Pachirisu. Now the strat is easy but, I can't make it work amazing. The deck has a bad matchup versus Leaf/Sceptile so idk if I should play this deck. It has great potential but, Idk if it would work by switching around techs (wheres Aradios UF when you need it:p). I like the Mime idea but, how can this deck beat a Leafeon variant?

Smacktack brings up a good point about the leafeon thing. It may not see much play now, but it's going to be a HUGE threat when Shaymin comes out. Mr. Mime certainly isn't going to stop it. Special Conditions can easily be removed if they play Dawn Stadium. And, of course, it's quite easy for them to OHKO everything in the deck.
Leafeon could pose a problem.

I've heard Deoxys Normal Forme thrown around as a possible tech against Leafeon lv. X and Sceptile in other threads. Maybe this deck could up the Multi count a bit/drop in some Roseanne-friendly psychic energy and find a way to fit 1 or 2 in since it obviously punishes excessive energy attachment/increases in unit of energy per card.

Also, Dawn Stadium is another reason Venomoth seems to me like it could shine here since it activates after their turn is over, therefore allowing you to at least get 100 damage (Pester plus 2 poison hits) on Leafeon lv. X or whatever else before they could even do any healing.

Ahh, Venomoth is sounding like such a beautiful option now. Deoxys Normal Forme could also be somewhat of a nice tech. Not only would it be good against Leafeon, but if the opponent spends a lot of time trying to attach multiple energies to hit Mr. Mime, Deoxys takes advantage of that.

Although I myself have a problem with this deck right now. Im afraid if the opponent takes the initial prize lead, I may not be able to recover from it. The turn I level up is the most devistating, when I auto paralyze and 80 + 10 from poison, forcing the opponent to either stay where they are, or warp. Giving me the option to send out Venomoth or Mime. This poses a problem though, what will I be doing most of the time? The very original idea was to Night Slash stall. (like Polistall) But now it seems like I will be pestering more often. I guess it just depends on what Im playing.

One thing is for sure. This deck can be seen winning a lot of BR's if played correctly. Or atleast I hope so.

an MD darkrai tech might be useful when you need to 80 something and don't have a ready way to put a special condition on them. I haven't tested it yet, but it could work.

Hey, Dustin... I just thought of something.
What happens when you can't get the level X out? What happens when its prized?
Yeah, there's Azelf, but in some instances you may need something else in your prizes ASAP, and then you've forsaken the LvX.
Also, in the instance that Azelf AND the LvX are prized... it seems like you're owned at that point.
Just seems like your strategy is TOO reliant on the LvX, you know?

@ Black Mamba

I was considering a Darkrai at one point, but at the moment I just dont find it necessary. Although it would be a surprise to the opponent.

@Micheal

Erg, actually I just pictured that in the car about 10 minutes ago. First off, the odds of BOTH Azelf and the Lv.X being prized is minimal. Secondly, if they are, I can still send out Venomoth to give me something to pester or just go straight Gliscor until I take a prize. At that point I have a 33% chance of getting either Azelf or the Lv.X

You just burning posion swarm them behind mime. Eventually they either have to stick with the condition (via not retreating and removing it) or they get very far behind on energy drops to matter about your gliscors taking a hit.

Also, Venomoth looks INCREDIBLE. I thought it was a coin flip, but it isn't, and it doesn't even have to get knocked out. I also think it'd work better than Shedinja.

No the coin flip would be the new delicatty

wait what about delicatty? I kinow its a coin flip to confuse but you can stilll attack and attach energyfrom it

If it wasnt for the flip, it would be a LOT better. Even though Venomoth cant attack, it has a clear lead over Delcatty.

I know this is a ways off, but I noticed in IFDS there are two other Pokemon with the whole "damage me and you get a status condition" that I thought I'd mention. Rapidash, which provides Burning, really only has free retreat as an advantage over the moth, although in desperate times you could actually do 30 for 2 with it if you had to, or 60 to something like Leafeon lv. X. Then there is Roserade, which Poisons, has 10 more HP than Venomoth, the ability to hit anything for 30 for 2 C as well as potentially discard an energy from that Pokemon, a good type with the same weakness as the moth, and the same retreat. It's only downsides compared to Venomoth are it has no resistance and it does not put them to sleep, but then again, Pester is not like Reactive Poison, which did more damage per condition whereas Pester just adds 40 regardless, and with two chances before their next turn to wake up from sleep, that effect would rarely stick anyway. The SW Roselia also has an attack that puts them to sleep for 1 C, which you wouldn't be using often obviously since you wouldn't generally want Roselia active except as a starter maybe for Calling purposes, although Roselia IS a better basic than Venonat due to this option as well as HP.

Once IFDS comes out, and if I am still playing Scorpio, both Rapidash and Roserade seem like a good idea. But what I have my eye on, is Electrode. If damaged, 10 counters on all of their poke's. And if they dont knock it out, you can auto paralyze your following turn. Pretty fly IMO.

idk how well deoxys would work but, I scrapped the whole gliscor deck. I have found the BDIF for BR's already (for my area) so that is why I don't want to play this deck anymore (it needs to much luck and struggle for a great or mediocre effect)

Suckle and mr.mime (IMO) are very bad started, test w/ shedinja free retreat no weakness, and good -PP- o test shedinja , froslass, azfel lv. X TM-TS2 and gliscor, snipper condition XD, shedinja big damage swarm, froslass good sniper and auto-sleep, azfel lv. X snniper enegy, TM-TS2 devolution of my pokemon of my oponent and gliscor is ¨batman¨XD.

it may just be me but really hit and run didn't that give up wen EMPoleon came in???

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

the shedinja idea isn't bad though

The deck would play differently when it goes against an Empoleon or other spread deck. Its not necessarily restriced to hitting and running. Even though it CAN run to Torkoal if sniping is a problem.

What Im trying to say is, Scorpio is almost a new age Flariados. Level up, do 80 and they're stuck with the conditions. Next turn burning poison scoop to Moth so you can level up again.

Since the Metagame you're going up against is mostly Kingdra, add some Bubble Coat, that will help you against Kingdra really well. Hope that helped.

1 MIGHT be useful... but if gliscor got hit with a 20 snipe from kingdra beforehand, it would be dead anyways. MIGHT help in emergency situations where you have your Lv.X active, but that should really never be happening.
