Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Winner: Jason K

Guys.....
Spectators can boo anything they wish. It may or may not be considered good form by some, but if we only allowed claps and cheers it would be a little like T ball where everyone gets a hit, no one loses a game, and everyone gets ice cream when it's all over! Let the emotion of the crowd be a part of the experince.
I would think judges shouldn't have a problem with watching, I would think they would have that aspect under control. it's worlds, ya gotta watch! Of course, that would depend on the comments made by spectators. I just don't think the budget would allow for TV, but who knows? It would be cool!
And Ness, you da man! I'm gonna toast one to you tonight ;)
Congrats!

Booing: I thought that was supposed to indicate disaproval of some sort, typically associated with someone doing something wrong or poor sportsmanship. To boo when the otherside makes a good move? Hmmm  Pokemon is not USA vs the rest.

Great performance by both Jason, and Khanh Le. No need to boo. JMHO.

I hope that it will be possible to have more than just the three finals on the screens in future. Maybe even a live feed of some sort?

its like the us vs everyone else. dont you see patriotism

Oh, I see. Soooooo, if Gino had won the epic match in the semi's vs Ness, you would have cheered loudly for him ag'st the Norwegian, Khanh Le. ?? Hmmmmm......so interesting. Since I was there, the cheering IMO was for Ness, didnt have ANYTHING to do with nationality. (Must explain all the golf claps for Gino when he won Nats vs the loud loud cheering for Ness @ Worlds)

Likewise, as a part of the staff, we want the best player to win, doesn't matter where they are from. It was a great top 4 in all 3 age groups. Top notch play all around!

I would like to extend my congradulations to Jason, In my opinion you are the best pokemon player in the World and you just proved that again this weekend. You represented the U.S. very well before and after you won the title. Once again Congrats and enjoy your victory.

Gino- That Muk was an amazing tech, Congrats on your third place finish. You had an amazing list and some tough matchups. So also to you enjoy your victory. But please no more videos.

Jimmy: I heard you refer to your weekend as a Cinderalla Story and I could not agree more.

i still think that boing when khanh tok a prize, or made a goo play, or won a er2 flip or wager is wrong.
cheering for a failed flip is borderline imo.

i know for a fact that khanh ran

4/4 blissey
1 chatot
9 fire energy
4 holon f/f
1 fighting energy

3 pokedex handy
4 cessation crystal
4 crystal beach
3 er2
1 night maintenance
1 tsd

thats the stuff i can remember for sure

a lot of props to gino.
the haters out there have no idea what they are talking about.
gino and his team are amazing. they talked me through every matchup they expected, including the 'secret' decks which they knew about also.
every matchup they had an answer.
the muk, cres, pachirisu tech all had a goo reason
well done gino

lol! comparing an olympic gold medalist to a pokemon player.. congrats to them both, really, but cmon dude.. this is like x100000000 worse than ginos video (i didnt even mind that actually but i could see where people who did were coming from).

why are you guys so "omg America winssss"? its just pokemon. not the olympics. i love it, you obviously love it, we all love it lol but geez.. calm down.

Ps- it does kinda suck people were clapping when that person flipped tails.. its legal but tacky. this isnt basketball or baseball with 30,000 ppl cheering for their team. not basketball where if u miss a foul shot the fans of the other team cheer. pokemon is a smaller more intimate setting.. personally that would have gotten me annoyed and a little distracted. but anyway congrats to the champ! (and also top 3)

Congratulations Jason. My boyfriend and I met you at Nationals this year, and I even told you then..I've heard many good things about you. You're well respected in the community. You could easily be a jerk to those of us who don't fit into the the "L33t" player base, but you don't. You have a very level head on your shoulders, and obviously you know what you're doing. I hope to eventually be able to meet you on the playing field one day.

There's a big, big difference between an NFL game, where players are paid to do a job, and a Pokemon match, where the competitors are amateurs (and often not adults).

But as I said, the players in question don't care at all. They'e going to do what they want to do regardless of any other factors. And they're going to sit here in the pokegym and tell us that we're wrong, that booing is OK, because they obviously know everything and we're obviously a bunch of old farts or prudes who just want to spoil their fun.

Whatever. Booing a player is incredibly disrespectful.

BRO BRO! Ya'll need to chill OUT BROOOOOOOOOOOO!

I never said that I booed anyone! I don't play dat game, BRO. I just said that's what happens when you've got a bunch of fans that are emotional about a high-pressure situation. Take any sport, even one involving kids like gymnastics! Sorry that reality doesn't fit into your worldview!

im gonna have to say i agree (stupid 17 character rule...)

I'm happy to put in my two cents and say it was a honor and pleasure to have the top two at Worlds use my damage counters. Did Ness ever find his damage counters Moss?

congrats jasion 2 time champ (THREE IF YOU INCLUDES STS) hopefully you can make it 3 next year congrats again

Certainly the crowd was on Jason's side, every American player (the majority of people there) knows who he is. I don't even remember any booing of Khanh and I certainly did not get ANY sense of people disliking him at all. There was always some polite applause to be heard when he took a prize.
And for the record, if I went to another country to play their player in a worlds final, I would totally be fine with being clearly not the crowd favorite and to hear them root against me. And in this case, I really didn't think anything was disrespectful.

Forget the booing on Khanh, you should have heard the stuff that people were saying about Gino in that T4 match that I heard. I personally supported Ness in that game all the way, but I heard some things people said about Gino that just disgusted me.

Personal opinions of players are always going to exist, no matter what game you look at. I did hear about the booing issues with players though.
