Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Winner: Jason K

I cant understand how someone would think it's perfectly ok to disrespect a player like that. Not only does it make the player feel bad and degrade them in such a manner. I think that this is just horrible and this is one of the reasons Americans have such bad reputations internationally.

QFT!!!

Spot On josh couldnt have said it better myself

Forget the booing on Khanh, you should have heard the stuff that people were saying about Gino in that T4 match that I heard. I personally supported Ness in that game all the way, but I heard some things people said about Gino that just disgusted me.

That's different. We all know who Gino is.

If I had been there I would have cheered the coin flips as I really would HATE to see something as Lucksack as straight blissy win worlds. lol

 ..... nah dude

this deck was no lucksack.
if you watched him play you would've seen that.

this wasn't a casual turn 2 Blissey deck with Boost energy and such..

this deck ran 4 Beach, 4 ER2, 4 Cessation Crystal, Holon WP so that it couldn't get Sonic Bladed, and so many other techs like Pluspowers and then massive Draw Power once all that is finished.
Gallade would have to flip 3 prizes per Blissey.
at the end of the game, they're usually out of resources, and the Blisseys keep coming.
this deck was incredible, and he beat most of the G&G (and Empoleon)that he faced, as long as he got decent setup, or ER2 flips...

IMO theres definitely no such thing as a deck lucksacking it's way to Top 2 at worlds.
luck can sometimes win small League tournaments, or maybe Cities, but not Worlds.
Worlds takes great skill and planning.. and even the strange decks out there, that seem to be bad, have a reason for being used :thumb:

look at Magma for example. everyone at first thought it was winning because of lucky Reversal flips, just because Americans thought reversal was a dumb card.

but in reality, reversal was amazing, especially in Magma, and Magma itself fully deserved its worlds win

Not only that, but I'd like to add: If lucksacking is the only way to succeed with this deck, how come it didn't only finish 2nd in Masters, but 2nd in Seniors too? AND went 6-1 in the Masters grinder Flight 1? Khanh Le and the Atanassov brothers had lots of success with their deck, they made a golden list that trounced the metagame.

I have question tho:

Gino said he was the best player EVER to play pokemon because he won Nats(the biggest tourney we've had so far),so since Ness beat him in top4 at worlds, dosent that make Ness the best player EVER to play this game??

Ive been wondering for days about that

well
some international players also cheered for ness cause hes #1 in everything not just pokemon :p

Pokemon tcg is not a transitive game :D (I fail at pokemanzs but I can do long math words lol)

Khan had little to nothing to do with the building of the deck.

And it wasnt boost blissey or anything like that it was actually well thought out and very consistent so just back off with the whole "omg how lucky could he be" comments

I wasent there for the finals but i did hear about it. Its true that the did boo the Norway player but its because Ness had a HUGE section. It was apparent when Gino lost and they errupted for over 4 minutes straight. Its a disgrace that it wasent a quiet section and a poorly shown group. IM shocked that Shwimmer and a judge dident have them removed for that. I'm expecting some punishment or some stricter rules next year thanks for this :) Ness is a great player with a HUGE base but there has to be rules on how quiet crowds watching a final can be :nonono:

Congrats to the following players:
Ness for winning his 2nd title
The Norway player for 2nd which is a hard thing to gte
Gino L for getting 3rd which shows that Nats champ can backup his title well
Jimmy for putting a hard game against Gino and getting 4th

Good luck to all of you next year and hope you do as good as this year

^If you weren't there, then how can you claim that it is true they were booing?

lol... Finals was a great match to watch....

Psh, finals was not anything special at all. Everything just flowed well for Ness, nothing special. Semifinals was infinity times better.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

How could anyone sa Blissey is a lucksack deck? It is extremely consistent, and nobody saw it coming at all. It doesn't even run Claydol, yet is faster and more self-sufficient than Plox or any of the Archetypes were.
