Im so sick of amu it seems like its to powerful to quick and has soo many added bonus that its just idk unstoppable...ugh i havent really been worried about it because i dont think too many people will run it but will someone...anyone help me come up with an idea that autowins against it? just so i can feel safer at night ? this has been bugging me for the last week and i need some help.

Mewtwo Level X prevents AMU from attacking it
Mightyena Does 30 damage and doesn't allow the Defending Pokemon to attack it if it's a basic.
Both of them have their weaknesses though

Mewtwo Lvl X could be warp pointed to the bench then hit one of your Pokemon for knockout.
A Basic Pokemon could switch or warp point to prevent the affects of Bite On from happening to the new Defending Pokemon

Kingdra has a very good matchup against AMU...unless you're DarthPika and can make Leafeon Lv. X work in the deck...

Dusknoir beats it. Also, despite what some people say, Mewtwo Lv.X is still an effective counter, and you can use various teches to keep it alive from AMU teches (Espeon => Bubble Coat/Azelf Lv.X, Mightyena => Unown G) as it mostly one-shots those tech pokémon.

Mr. Mime works, Gallade imho (because scramble still is legal atm, so Gallade at the time is a option) I also think that kingdra also will have a good time vs this deck. Dennis also mentioned Dusknoir, and I also want to point ou that Bannette also is quite a counter vs this deck. And ofcourse Mewtwo lv. X

Also add up on stadiums or pokemon who can discard it. Imho they are quite useless without it.

I have, in the old and newer versions. The older worked with Gyarados, who didn;t really work out in the end. I just chose to not attack it.

The newer however was a bit of a problem, I still play G&G atm, and it works solid vs the list. But I intend stop using it when IFDS comes out, and I will bring machamp with drop into play. Combined with Palkia from IFDS you will at least have 1 KO before your opponent does.

Cheers,

Luxray and Mewtwo are probably your safest bets, though i did like the Banette idea...i'd like to see that match would end up...

Luxray is a pain, but hard to use as a tech. Banette fails with out the CG Shuppet. Dusknoir is probably one of your best bets, but its NOT going to be as easy to work into most decks. BTW Mime is a joke against AMU, you stall , I reach over Mime with Azelf lv.x. Or I warp point, or I just build up my bench and make it so once you retreat, I have my full setup. Leafeon also lol's at mime.

And do 20 or 30 damage, congrats.

Or I warp point,

Mime on bench FTW?

or I just build up my bench and make it so once you retreat, I have my full setup.

And let your opp do the same, except they get an extra turn on you.

Leafeon also lol's at mime.

Yet again, have fun with that. I just don't understand why you think Leafeon is so good in the deck when it doesn't help anything other than being a secondary attacker that's resistant to Kingdra.

Blech, how does Kingdra beat AMU?

Well, it can T2 you, can get a faster set up than you, Kingdra just generally beats AMU.

Dspy was right, use one of those, or there were many other techs mentioned.

AMU is mediocore at the best, i mean, it can be good but...eh, i just don't like it, plenty of things beat it. It's good but far from Godly

ya but any deck made especially to beat amu (mewto lvl X) loses to everything else.... i mean jeez and im talkin LA only no IFDS

I know a card that gives AMU the upper hand against any of these TecHs, but IDK if I can say it. Just think basics. There is one basic that can really help AMU out. It's a water type. That's all I can say.

Yeah, Palkia Lv.X is good. It fits in AMU nicely, and combos with MT Mesprit's body well enough to be played. It just requires a build without Claydol, but I guess AMU can handle that.

Still, playing Palkia down against Dusknoir takes away one of your precious bench spaces (although Dusknoir is the most fun to drag in). Also, if you don't have the warp point in hand, you don't have free Gust of wind - just a free Double gust, as you have to retreat for Palkia first (you seldomly want to use Palkia's power from bench).

Still, a good addition in AMU, and definitely in my test list, being a fan of that very card.

Lol. Already one of these threads? AMU isn't even this amazing thing. You also do know that AMU by itself completely folds to a 1/1 Mewtwo Lv.X line with 1 Unown G in any deck. GG never had a counter like that. I've played three games this format and it's obvious that without a real evolution line (like Leafeon Lv.X or something) the deck can't win against a single Mewtwo with Unown G. All you have to do is either start with it (unlikely) or sacrifice guys until it's your last basic so they can't Warp Point, Palkia Lv.X or Azelf your bench. Think outside of the box.

Anyone with a good AMU would have thought of Mewtwo and teched for it. lol

I do agree, 1 Mewtwo lv.x kills any AMU with out a tech line. If they have a tech line to KO the Mewtwo, then he really is just 2 worthless spots in your deck.
