Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worlds Deck for Sale

Who would want to sell their deck? That's kinda stupid if you think about it. Not, "idiotic" stupid, just "why" are you selling a deckc you worked on for so long?

Because he just won 10,000 dollars worth of cards he plans to sell. He's going to buy back all of the neccessary stuff. Who cares about effort, you can't legally use the deck anyways, EVERYONE throws away the time they spent on the deck at the end of the season.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

I am pretty sure it's over. It has been at $710 for 2 or 3 days now...

Please refer to as "those we don't speak of", or more commonly known on the internet as TWDSO.

LMAO

Here is my first post after 4 months or so. I dont expect anyone to care, I'm just pointing it out.

That's y this guy is one of the best in the game, he has a lot of class.

Way to go Jason.

I asked the winning bidder if he wanted any cards signed. This is what he told me:

Nah that's ok. Thanks for the offer though. I'm actually getting back into the game after a.... 7 year break. So i figured why not get a deck from the best right?

Question though, what's Jolteon doing in the deck?

I explained to him the Jolteon*'s 10 damage being situational.

Did I miss the eevee or am I missing something else?

I told him Jolteon* is a basic.

And there's what I was missing! Thanks

Ya I checked out the website and have been talking to a guy who runs a league. I won't lie to you I'm a Yu-Gi-Oh! player but I've recently started working for Upper Deck which means I'm not allowed to play in organized tournaments anymore. However, since we don't make the Pokemon TCG, all's fair.

I became worried that I had ripped someone off - maybe he didn't understand that these cards are only being bid so high because they were actually used to win Worlds. I just e-mailed him explaining if he's simply looking to build a deck, he can get the cards a lot cheaper.

His last response blew me away.

Thanks for your concern, but out here it's hard to find singles for pokemon and even harder to find basic energies, let alone special energies. From what I found, it would have cost me more to go out and buy cards than I just spent. Plus, if I thought I was gonna be ripped off, I wouldn't have bothered with bidding.

I mean now what do I do? I'm telling him he's being ripped off and he's arguing with me that he's not.

I'd say let him. You've explained to him that he can get the cards cheaper. Perhaps coming from Yugioh, he's used to the cards being really expensive. He also should know he's helping out a very good cause. I'm glad to see your deck went for that much, Jason. You'll be able to get a good trip out of it, and no matter what league you go to, you'll be very helpful.

ripped off

If this particular player needs cards like this, it is possible i can provide him those for free. rares-sure, uncommons and commons- if he wants them that bad, trainers-okay, energies -plenty of them. I really think the dec should go to someone who will appreciate it for what it did and what it is.

malikhisyam: referring to what u said about nats.maybe ness can work out some stuff with his team mates to increase the no. of players in the area and teach the younger ones a little bit of skill and more about the basics.again its his choice.if we are lucky we get it.

um, I'll be happy to send him some nrgs and even a dp on deck. Does he understand that this deck cannot be used this season? At least not without modifcations.
But if he bought it, and is ok with it, then it's all cool. There are still yu gi cards that sell for 3 and 4 hundred.
Had I bought it, I'd had you sign that jolt * for sure. I wonder if he wants to buy my Mew EX and Manatric EX you signed!

Since bidding has ended at $710, I guess he won't be coming to Malaysia

XoX

And YGO cards, aren't necessarily expensive - the most I went for it was buying 3 God cards for $100.

My Spellcaster deck is an rare/super/ultra rare deck that only cost me at about the same price at most.

I would say that you have been very honest and open and communicative with the purchaser and you certainly do not need to feel that you are ripping him off. It would be a good idea to mention that some of the cards will not be tournament legal this season. From what I have read about you, I bet you'd be willing to offer him some suggestions for tweaking the deck to make it legal though.

I'm glad that it went for so much and that the buyer seems happy. It would have been great for it to go to a huge Pokemon fan but maybe this is the start of something for this returning player.

Not to mention a fair amount of the cards being rotated out.
Oh well...
You certainly were clear in your auction and even went so far as to explain he was paying a lot for a playing copy of a deck, so your conscience should be clear.

QFT

I'm pretty sure eBay doesn't help you if you just flat out didn't read the auction.

This guy had to know what he was paying for and decided it was worth the price.

Also, grats to Ness on the sale. Some league somewhere is going to be very happy this fall.

if you bid $710 and didn't read the auction, well............
What Jason can do is just ask for his final value fee back because the bidder cannot complete the sale, and he doesn't have to leave neg. feedback to do it ( I don't think he can now anyway, as e- bay has changed how they do things).
He then can re- list the item, or offer it to the next highest bidder as a second chance offer.

The guy absolutely insists on buying this deck for $710. He's paid. The deck's going out today!
