Easy ways to charge up Tyranitar SF?

Cyrus

Hey guys,

I've recently been tweaking a Tyranitar SF variant a lot...The problem is (of course...) that I cannot charge that thing up with five darkness if my life depended on it.

Any suggestions? Weavile? Togekiss? Discard+Rotom?

How about Alakazam MT? When they use a power, discard 2 darkness from your hand, and it will negate it, but it will still act like it was used so Tyranitar will be able to get back the 2 energy you discarded onto it (and another tyranitar). But I guess that relies heavily on you having energy to discard in your hand all the time.

How about Garchomp lv.x? It can bring back a Tyranitar + 3 darkness on it with a single attack. That's 3/5 you need right there. It might not be worth setting up a whole stage 2 lv.x for that result, though.

I can't think of anything other than that and what you mentioned.

Well Leafeon too ... but yeah.

Just IMHO, but I don't shoot to have my first T-Tar powered up with 5 nrg. It usually happens to one by mid game though with Felicity's and KOs having put things in the discard.

I'm avoiding stuff like Weavile, Togekiss, and such so I don't have to blow a bench space on them later in the game.

Energy Link! Also, I like 2 rotoms in my build. If they refuse to use their powers (or dont have any), then you can charge up that way. Also, rotom works to get energy on the Larvi's and Pupi's before you even get TTar out.

It's hard to say what is an easy way to charge up Tyranitar. Sure it's body helps but I don't like having my speed in the hands of my opponent. Togekiss takes up space and rare candy most of the time, plus they sort of sit on the bench and waste space there as well. I do think Togekiss does have somewhat a surprise factor to it.

Weavile would be an okay choice considering it doesn't really waste much space because you can actually attack with it, and it powers up Tyranitar when it doesn't need to.

It's too hard a choice, I'd say Weavile.

Throw a die off the table and make the opponet get it. While they are not looking, get 4 energy and attach them to t-tar. All done. But in all seriouslyness, Zam tech with maybe bronzong should give t-tar more then enough energy.

Alakazam doesn't work, once you got both Tyranitar and Alakazam, your opponent can simply stop using powers in some decks and make your deck starve.

If your only power is Claydol, and you see your opponent has Alakazam and Tyranitar, would you even think of using it?

I played Tyranitar with Leafeon and still had this problem sometimes.

ahahahahaa

Thanks. i needed that random silliness this morning

I play Bronzong MT in mine. I don't usually try to get 5 energy on a Tyranitar very quickly though, I focus more on Grind. But if you're more focused on Spinning Tail - Togekiss and Weavile are what I can think of. If you're trying to get energy in the discard pile, Bronzong MT works fine for me but Lunatone could probably work as well.

I like Weavile not only because it allows you to charge Tyranitar faster while providing a possible back-up attacker that wouldn't be half-bad against Fire stuff but also because it lets you have the option of playing Palkia lv. X (with Moonlight stadium, which I'm assuming is going to already be in whatever Tyranitar variant you come up with). Weavile can turn a Restructured Claydol or Palkia (of you own obviously) into Dark so it retreats for nothing thanks to the stadium while you get to either A.) pick something off the bench that the opponent has been building for a Grind OHKO or B.) bring in something with a high retreat they can't do anything with such as Claydol or Heatran lv. X and get a few Spinning Tails off without having to deal with their main attacker hitting you while you try to spread. It really only takes 4 or 5 Spinning Tails total in a game to kill everything in play, so if you can repeatedly buy a turn or two of "worry-free" spreading via Restructure, you can also probably win.

Weavile, Leafeon Lv X, Togekiss...maybe Felicity's to dump Dark Energy into your discard...maybe stall for 5 turns with Mr. Mime? lol

I have tried practically every combination with this guy. I think I am just going to have to give up on him. I think Togekiss is the worst play of all.

I have Weavile, Rotom, and Alakazam in my T-Tar deck. I usually get 5 Darks on my 1st T-Tar before it attacks. Then after I OHKO the active threat, a few Spinning tales usually end the game soon. I gotten 3 prizes in one turn a few times that way.

Some ideas:

Alakazam (MT)
Weavile (SW)
Sableye (SF) + Rotom (MD) = Sableye discards felicitys and rotom gets energies back
Bronzong (MT)
Leafeon Lv.X (MD)
Togekiss (GE)

Don't play him with a deck built around him. Play him as a tech in various decks that you want some sort of power.......deterant. I've tried building decks around it. It doesn't work, however, testing it out as a tech worked really well in one of my spread decks.

The problem with that being he needs all dark to spread, and there aren't any other good dark pokemon who spread damage.

But there are things that spread for very little energy ... Yanmega and Bronzong come to mind.

I could also see something with Weavile & either Dragonite or Exploud.
