So today on Craigslist I picked up.

All Lvl. X Tin Promo's
Charizard EX (in Played Condition, no major wear and tear)
Leafeon Lvl. X
6 Rare Candy
4 Roseannes
5 Cynthias
3 Bebes

ALL FOR $20!!!
Stoked on life right now!!!
 
Actually it was a mother who's 10 year old was done playing, and she wanted to get some money for all the cards she bought him.

I met up with her and she had BOXES of cards, so I went through them and found those gem's and she said she just wanted $20. She wanted me to buy the whole box for $100, but I didn't want a bunch of crap that's not worth anything.

Good show, sir. You can probably power Rhode Island with all the coal you're going to get in a couple weeks.

As long as SHE offered to sell everything to him for $20 dollars, I don't see what the problem is. If she cared that much about what the cards were worth, she would have researched it more before selling them to him. You guys are really being too hard on him.

Honestly tho, most parents dont care about pokemon cards. They buy them for their kid(s) to make them happy and its cuz they want them. When the kid(s) dont like it anymore then how many parents do you expect would actually research prices on ebay and single card selling websites?
 
Just the items you took would be worth close to or over $100. You could have at least bought the set for half price and not make her carry the "junk" back home after you cherry picked the good stuff! You could have taken the extras and given them to leaguers. =/

She ASKED for $100. He got her to $20 bc he only took a handful of cards. I'm sure she didnt know any values on the cards, so she probably thought....."100 for all, he took some, I can live with the 20". BUT, he knew better. Shoot, the ChEX itself is worth 40-80 itself! The Leafy X is a good 18-25 card too! Yeah, big time rip off!

I would seriously kick you out of a tourney if I was judging and saw you pull something like that. I would even go as far as to suggest a short ban from the game. Ripping someone off like that so close to Christmas makes me sick. Merry Christmas Scrooge.

would you take a hundred dollars from a foreigner
that was givivng it to you, thinking it is just paper?
would you lie to them, ripping them off and giving
next to nothing for what they had?

  • Its only screwing someone when YOU set the price, if they ask for a certain amount then it is their doing. xD

It was her offer. He was happy, she was happy. That's the perfect deal.

Sorry, sir, you lose.

You know the fair market value of something. You know the seller doesn't. You intentionally keep it to yourself so you can get the item well under FMV. That's tantamount to fraud.

She priced everything acording to what ebay was selling it for. So I dont feel that I ripped her off. She said that she wanted $20. IF you go to the swapmeet and something it $5, your not gonna ask the person if you can give them $50 for it. She wanted $20 and that's what she got for them. No harm was done.

i also suggest you all hit up your local craigslist and see what deals you can find. believe me if you find someting as good as mine, you will probabl;y stop hating on me!

She didnt ask for $100 for the cards i picked. She was trying to sell me the rest of the set for $100 because she didnt want to have to deal with selling it to other people. She was a mother who didnt care about the cards and wanted to get rid of them and didnt have to time to deal with it.

AND IF YOU ALL HAD THE CHANCE I KNOW MOST OF YOU WOULD DO THE SAME! If you find a good deal on ebay your not gonna ignore it, or tell the seller your gonna opay full retail price for it. No one has ever done that.
