Did the Pokemon TFG officialy die?

After being pushed back a few times, Groundbreakers was supposed to come out last month. Was it "pushed back" again to some other date or has the TFG official died?

I have no idea why it is taking so long for it to come out, they have the figures done, I think. But having the 2nd set come out so later after the 1st set was such bad timing.

naw, its not dead...yet, (muhahahahaha?) its just flopin around a bit like a magicarp outa water.

No news whatsoever pertaining to the TFG this YEAR. Yeah, I'd say it's dead.

Too bad. It was actualy very fun to play. IMO it lost it's "charm" when it came out in NA and not being in random packs like in Europe. That and not having the Pearl or Crystal figures. I bought a box of the European ones when they came out and it was just like the TCG, open a pack and hope for something rare. With the NA ones you could see the rare ones before you bought them. It took the fun out of it.

I'm not sure how many people here follow miniature games, but...

Recently, Topps closed Wizkids, the company that brought us Heroclix, Pirates, MageKnight, etc. This year, there have been plans by former Wizkids/Heroclix employees to bring back the Heroclix game, and possibly other WK properties, through a company called Pinata Games. Details are unknown right now, but the word is that it's coming back, it's just a matter of hammering out details.

If there were a large push for a PokeClix game, produced by the same people who invented the Clix system and created Heroclix, Horrorclix, etc. Would people buy it? For those who don't know, the basis of the Clix system is that each figure's powers, stats, life, etc. is represented on a dial (*click*) that is turned when the figure is damaged, etc. It's a very interesting system, in my opinion.

Let's say that we did the usual WK thing: 3 sets a year, $10.00 - $12.00 /booster, 5 figures + 1 card/booster, weekly tournaments for LE figures, and then Cities, Nats, etc. Would you go for it? I loved Heroclix like no other for a long time, so I can definitely say I would, but friends and I have debated whether it would work or not, and it's just been something I'm wondering. I realize it's very unlikely to happen, but with the TFG seemingly dying, I thought this would be a good thread to spark some miniature-related Pokemon discussion.

I doubt the Pokémon Trading Figure Game is completely dead; however, the continued delay of Groundbreakers and the lack of official news regarding the game has left much uncertainty. The official state of the game needs to be address by TPCi.

Not clicks I think that a Pokemon miniture game should be card based like the Star Wars and D&D miniture games, where the figure is pared with a Stats card that contains all of the figures strenghts, attacks and abilities. That is how they should have done the POkemon Minityre game.

Heck 8 years a go I thought up a Pokemon miniture game that was capture the flag, and the game would have 3 levels Underround or underwater. Ground level and Sky level, MOvements and atack effectivness would be based on the Pokemon type and the terrain it was in, A pokemon would get a bonus to tis attack if it is in its ideal terreain space and in bad spaces like a Fire Pokemon would be practically useless with its attcks usless in water areas. Flying animals would have greater movment in flight and safe from physicasl attacks from ground based pokemon, but they would be extreamly vaunerable to projectile attacks at that time,
That was just a few of the ideas I had. I also thought you dould have replaceable terrian squares so you could change the playfield howerver you wanted.

That means the "market" isn't dead for the game. It just isn't supported correctly. If the TFG got similar support as even the VG is getting right now, it would be *huge*.

here is my issue with The TFG....If there is no support for the Game why even make the figures...

"Some kids just wanna collect them"
Well kids could get regular figurines, cheaper than the booster packs, so UNLESS you're going to have a TFG League and support, then it would just be a waste of time and money, that you could invest in the REGULAR pokemon Figures.

Cause honestly, i Havent seen a SINGLE "Muk" Figure with the exception of the Burger King Key rings.

It'd dead. Think about it. How long was set 1 made? I'm suprised it still has a forum. There will never be OP and probably not even a set 2. Its done.

Was it ever alive in the first place? This game had NOTHING going for it:
Expensive figures
Figures that broke easily
No OP
Boring and repative game play
WAAAAY too many repeat figures in packs

The only thing I can find that is cool about the game is that some figures look cool.

Any TFG product is cheaper than a booster pack? Not in my area. All the packs are $10+ dollars. Guess the store would rather not mark down super old product that hasn't sold in a year.

In my anime store , The store owner sold them indivdually as garshpones or figurines 2.50 a pieceUSD

This game is dead. Delaying a set for 2 years is ridiculous. They could have had something good, but they ruined it.

They don't even have any Diamond and Pearl figures out, minus the promo DP Starters. How do you expect kids to buy these when they can't even get all of the shiny new Pokemon?
