if im playing dialga G
what would be the best strategy against a gengar deck
or a gechamp deck

im running 2 unown G's

Gengar wise, Unown G a Claydol and Skuntank. Get Dialga G X out to stop queen, and use Skuntank + Dialga G to go through Gengar without activating Fainting Spell.

^What nnaann said.

Also, use Claydol to cycle any unusable Trainers out of your hand and, if they play Lookers on you, just draw one. Bat drops are good to KO Gengar too.

If Gengar can't Shadow Room your bench, and can only Poltergeist for tiny amounts of damage, just sit tight and win.

Run 3 Unown G. Lol, dead serious, it makes Gengar a fairly easy deck to beat. Just fish around for a prize, Unown G your whole field, and stall with an active Dialga G with Sp. Metals and only a few trainers in hand. Deafen until 100, and Crobat for KO.

Skuntank G and Galactic HQ added in here takes away the need for Crobat G and accelerates the KO. If you are fortunate enough to get a quick Deafen + HQ lock and force them to evolve manually into Gengar, you've already gained a massive advantage and you should have plenty of time to prepare for the handful of Gengar that do eventually come into play. I say "handful" because most Gengar decks tend to run 2 Haunter or less (less if it's Gengar mixed with something else), and if you Deafen for the entire game, you may well only have to deal with two, since Night Maintenance can't be used to retrieve the line when it is KOed, and of course they will be blocked from Rare Candying the other 2 Gengar into play as well.

would you seriously reccomend deafening the whole game???

right now my dialga deck is running
1 lake boundry
1 hq
1 snowpoint

should i add more hq?

Whenever possible, it would be smart. Think about it, you only have to take one more prize than your opponent does. If all of your pokemon in play are Guarded, and your active has a few Sp. Metals with resistance to Psy, along with a low number of trainers in your hand, how exactly can Gengar do damage? Play defensively and you should win.

As for the stadiums, I would never run Snowpoint, I don't find it to be very effective under a Deafen Lock, which is the only time stadiums are reliable. Does your Dialga G list run Skuntank/Toxicroak?

Yes, you should run more hq. You can play with Lucario GL instead of lake boundry.

Gengar is bad and has no answer for deafen lock

Gengar isn't bad. :)

It's true that Deafen lock definitely causes issues for Gengar, but the moment they break the lock, Gengar immediately gets back on its feet. It's Gengar's recovery that I love most. Besides that, the match up is basically determined the first few turns.

The Deafen lock generally should not be broken. There simply is no reason to break it with all of the following aiding in the lock down and making the attack all the more devastating: smart Unown G placements, Skuntank G, Galactic HQ, Poketurn, and Special Metal (on top of Dialga G's resistance).

Dialga (/Alakazam) can easily win against Gengar/Nidoqueen... besides Gengar/Nidoqueen play 1-1 Infernape 4 Tech. It can destroy the matchup immediately.

is 2 HQ is enough?
lol having a hard time finding space in this deck....

also--
if playing against geChamp, would using deafen every turn be just as beneficial, or would you reccomend trying to get fast KOs with second strike/ remove lost??? (considering geChamp uses more stage 1s than a straight gengar deck does)

That depends.. Do you run Toxicroak?

nope
im using skuntank, but im running weavile as a tech instead of toxicroak

do you think toxicroak would be a better choice?
toxi= machamp killer
weavile = gengar killer

?

Well you already have a strong strategy for Gengar. I'd use Croak. This way, you can Deafen all game, until they approach with a Champ, at which point you will probably need to break the lock. Play down a new Dialga G, G Switch a Sp. Metal to it, Turn the old Dialga G, and attach a Sp. Metal from hand to the new Dialga. Bring Toxicroak active and 2HKO.

I havent seen any Gengar Nidoqueen run 1-1 Infernape. That would take up too much space along with needing more energy. On topic I dont think you have to worry about Gengar because my list loses to Dialga G most of the time and so does most of the other lists.

ok i appreciate the help a lot thank you.

quick question; against gengar; if gengar player goes first and uses pitch dark, that prevents me from using energy gain correct???
stoping me from using my T1 deafen, allowing them to have their T2 trainers played ??

Actually, you may want to just Use Unown G on Dialga anyways. Why? Because while you stall with it active, they may get smart and start placing counters on Dialga, which gets around Metals and resistance. With Unown G, they don't even have that option. Early game the opponent may have some spare time to play trainers, though.

Just do a little bit of testing, try using E Gain early, then try Unown G early and see which works best for you. I honestly can't say for sure, as I haven't fully tested Dialga myself.
