6k sheet ended era

Well obivously no-one payed $6,000 for it....
It's only worth like $100-200 (an assumption based on number out there)
 
I don't recall hearing anything about someone purchasing those sheets for $4000. Usually a high profile buy like that is mentioned somewhere. If someone could sell them for that price, well they made a sale of a lifetime. The sheets are really cool, but I don't think they would bring anywhere near that kinda of money.
 
im not sure its what i heard but i do now he was a collector that why he got it or something like that ill try to find the old post
 
Just because nobody bought the uncut sheet that we are aware of doesn't mean it'll be back up, I have seen the same sellers through out the months and even years put up the same rare card or what have you at various times with prolonged monthly and even at times yearly breaks; to the point you think it must have been purchased privately and then its back up on ebay. I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of those situations.

he should either sell it for less or just keep it.
but i hope if he does sell it he sells it to me seeing how im the collector of these and no one wants it more than i do.
but 6k is too much.especialy seeing how i know how much he paid for it.

Yeah you two got the biggest deals EVER when you got these....
 
i know how much he paid for it so i know 6k is insane in comparrison.
i honestly think i hsould get the sheet because no one wants it more than me and it only sounds right that i get it.
to hear uncut sheet and someone elses name just sounds weired right.
it will sound alot better if i had it.
i hope i get it in the long run for a more reasonabe price.
but i still cant belive he was considering cutting up the cards and selling them individualy.

I see your pretty steadfast in your philosophy that "If its not in my hands, its in the wrong hands". The only person who wants it more than you, is the person willing to shell out the most money.
 
everyone has their own thing.one guy wants 4 of every card.people hunt down the trophy cards.people collect rare japanese promos.i collect uncut sheets.

And I know most people who collect trophy cards wouldnt think that they wouldnt be in the wrong hands with someone else.
I love really rare cards but I wouldnt say they were in the wrong hands if someone else had them.
Do I wish I had a Prerelease Raichu? Yes. Do I feel that Wills hands are the wrong hands? No.

Will is desperate for an Illustrator, it's top of his want list at the moment. But I highly doubt that he feels that Stephen and Johns hands are the wrong hands.

Maybe some people are going to appreciate uncut sheets more than you, maybe they fell that your hands are the wrong hands for them.
 
nooooooooooooooooooooooooo way i take very good care of my sheets.
and i very much appreciate my sheets thats why i love to get as many as possible.
i treat all my sheets with the upmost care even if i had a sheet completley destroyed i would treat it like gold.
how many illustrator are there.

Yeah but some people may like them more.

No-one knows how many Illustrators exist, but 6 is the general assumed amount.
 
*shrugs* at least one uncut sheet was in pia's donation box for children's hospital, at worlds...no idea which one it was, as it was rolled backside-out.

If I had to guess I'd say it was probably the Fossil one. From what I've heard they are the most common so more likely to be donated.

If it was the same as the one that was on eBay then extra kudos to the person for not trying to cash in while these sheets are in the public eye.

I'll be the first to admit that not only do I consider it perfectly okay for the Pikachu-Illustrator to be in John and Steve's collection but that they deserve the card way more than I. As far as trophy/tournament cards go the ones who deserve those cards the most are those who earned them through whatever tournament they may have won them and if they wish to trade/exchange them for cash then there are a variety of individuals out there willing to take up such offers.
 
Totally agree Will.
It's so rare for people to be awesome players and collectors. That's why most trophy cards change hands since most players would prefer the cash for decks and what not.
I can say for pretty much certainly that the Number 1 Trainer won't change hands this year =P.
