Is there a calendar of dates confirmed yet for city championships in the UK?

We might do more than one and we need to see what fits in with work patterns and sort out travel plans.

not yet :(

Your nearest events will probably be Norwich, and North London. There will be events in Rainham (Kent), Crawley, South London, Aldershot, Bournemouth, Ripley and further afield. There may be an event in Westcliff-on-sea.

Thanks - we will be going to Norwich :thumb:

We also thought we might have a weekend away somewhere else so travelling won't be a problem.

Any chance of a list and dates ASAP Ian as we are on deadline for the Magazine.. would be good to get more than two or three CC's in there since we missed out on the Pre-release dates.

If I had a list I'd post it.

I get my list from the same place that everyone else does: The op website. Now obviously I do know who has been asked but even that isn't difficult to figure out just by looking at who ran Citys last year and the recent battle roads.

Some differences from the past. I do prefer weekend events so that players can travel. Mid week events aren't absolutely out of consideration but they wont be top of the list. We have a limited number of CCs, not every possible venue will get a city.

POP funds the top 4 places in each age group. So if previous events were not even getting to 12 players then don't be surprised if those events are also not at the head of the queue for allocation.

If the TO has outstanding events to upload then that will also put them low on the list.

Finally you could always ask the local TO!

It would be very handy if we had a list of areas that will be getting the CCs

Players will not travel to other events if they are assuming there will be one at their local.

Also it will give those of us that run events a chance to maybe go and compete.

The start of the CC season is only a few days away - surely this can be sorted!

If other TOs are not able to sanction events,(not that it is that hard - takes all of five minutes) then maybe these events should be passed on to TOs who do sanction tournaments well inadvance and report in a timely manner. If I am having to lose a CC in my area, and tbh I still cannot understand why, then at least the info should be available so players know where they can compete.

OP in the UK is suffering and will not get any better unless situations like this are sorted out. We had no problems like this last year!
