why is redshark the default program?

1. redshark is worse than apprentice. it is slower, more error prone, has larger files and takes up more space.
2. apprentice has been the standard for years, and is easily the most popular of the two
3. apprentice is FASTER to play. much faster, has macros and hotkeys/shortcuts that make it a lot more user-friendly and quick to use/improvisational.

redshark sucks, basically. id rather take a forfeit than play on that program.
 
i don't even have appr. installed and don't want to go through the download of the pokemon patch and whatnot.

Ditto. If I had more notice and therefore more time to get used to Apprentice I'd feel more comfortable with it. Maybe there should be two divisions? : /
 
Well, there won't be any disagreements between me and my opponents, because if my opponents lack Apprentice, then I'll have them download it. Path of least resistance dictates that my opponent spend three minutes downloading Apprentice in place of me spending 15-20 downloading that sad excuse for a program.

"Love the sinner; hate the sin" is my stance on Redshark. :smile:

Because everybody loves it for some reason... the "Deck/Library" confusion is too much for their brains.

I tried apprentice once and didn't really like it. Not very prettyful and too much stuff that has nothing to do with playing Pokemon on it.

Redshark is a bit clumsy, but at least it's clear what to do. I reckon anyone using apprentice for the first time will misplay just cos they are not used to the program while the player who is used to it zips along at 90 mph with all their hotkeys.

The first post says that RedShark is the default.
 
yeah I know, I'm just wondering if it goes to GL if someone absolutely refuses to use Redshark.
