Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars
PT-on wouldve been a kind of reset, start from scratch with many ugly things gone forever, then people couldve been able to focus on finding sp counters...

That is the most ridiculous format change ever... Oh wait... it isn't a format change! We're still going to be totally dominated by SP decks. No more Claydol for Stage 2 decks, no more Dusknoir for stage 2 decks.... awesome...

Machamp still has Uxie, BTS, Rare Candy, pokemon communication, Poke Drawer + then there's also draw supporters. I just don't think you quit because of this, I think that SP might of been better with PL-on than this because of a lack of Machamp and Mewtwo.
The problem is that Machamp is even less interesting than SP.

Back in DX-on, there were great games, almost no donks, an engine that made almost everything run, a lot of thinking, a lot of competitive non-meta-decks, a lot of fun. Why can't we have that back? Why keep game-spoiling cards like Uxie in the format if we could have a simple and good block rotation to PL-on where even SP-decks wouldn't be as strong as they are with MD-on?

Please tell us that this is just one big "april fools joke"

Im scared, a format that sp dominates EVEN MORE.

I think this might be the best time to stop playing...

Yikes. o_O No more Claydol? This is going to be huge. Pretty much every top deck (minus SP's) use Claydol as a key card. I wonder what people will find to replace claydol. =/ I can't think of anything off hand that could be anywhere near as good.

Honestly, you guys think its ok to just ask the pui guys what they had in mind when they did this? Would be really interesting..

Whoo hoo, Starmie/Shuppet for another year!!!
seriously, though, this waws unexpected, was prepared for PL-on.
bye-bye claydol!!

DX-on was without a doubt the best format I've ever played in. I remember at the provincials that year in the top 8, we had 7 very different decks.

Has anyone realized that because Great Encounters is gone that SPs are done for! Machamp is going to slaughter any SP deck there is! No Unown G to protect them!!!

I really think this was a great idea for Pokemon I mean if it would have been PL-on, Sp's would have dominated the entire format, but this makes a HUGE difference now, I'm actually looking forward to the next season.

I have a feeling with this now decks are going to rely on more Uxies for draw power when they need it.

Its weird that SP's are staying with their Uxies and such. I don't mind at all, but at the same time its sort of ridiculous keeping all of those sets in. I'm glad Luxchomp will still be viable and this just opens up one or two slots in my deck.

I wonder if Machamp will still be viable. I highly doubt it somehow since there is no Claydol.

If you think about it, next season we will have the same number of sets we had this season, and expect the value of Uxie Lv x to go WAY UP! Start buying them now while they are still 15-20 dollars.

Hello Uxie, Uxie X. Gonna top Luxray prices, I think.

Format-wise, *jawdrop* Did not expect that. I guess that means that Japan is going to stay DP-on for another year, and we should expect Platinum-on next (uh oh, started the new format topic).
