Thank you all for joining the 2nd "I Play Theme Decks" Tournament.

This is an event that forces you to get into the mind of the NEW PLAYER who is just getting started in the game.

You will be forced to REALLY think back and recall how you felt about various types of cards and strategies.

Deeper Purpose = Community Building: The Pokemon community has become very divided and click-ish. Kids and adults who wish to play for FUN are met with a level of condescention that is inconsistent with the spirit of the game. The purpose of this contest is to give you some perspective about the nervous/anxious new faces that you see at your leagues and tournaments; it will help you to look at them with a deeper understanding of their experience and, perhaps, you'll make an effort to create a welcoming and encouraging environment.

That being said, THIS is what you should get out of participating in this event:

If you're good, that's good; let people enjoy their own current ability levels and respect them when they are satisfied it. Offer assistance in a manner that does not say "I'm SO much better than YOU!" Be cool in all things you do.

Lol, that's what some new people actually say to us at league. But for newcomers that might come later, I'll be sure to actually use the ideas and concepts in this tournament to help them.
