Masters, like 18 people in my division, 5 rounds, top 4. i dont remember some of what was going on in a couple of my games, I apologize if I forget any names or anything like that.
oh, and im playing garchomp C toolbox, like what I've been playing for most of this cities season, I'll post my list at the end if anyone is curious.
ok so round 1
Jacob V w/ Garchomp C vs Mike B w/ Cursegar
Mike is a really cool guy, and I enjoy playing against him when I get the chance to, so I was already excited for this tournament. I dont remember my start but roserade GL was definitly BTIF for it (it netted me like 3 prizes lol) and Honchkrow (BDK) helps out a whole bunch. he doesnt play vileplume because I plays it belted cursegar into gengar prime style, with crobats and poketurns, which is cool, cuz lost zoning stuff is brutal, luckily, he only lost zones my smeargle with that combo, cuz I kinda sweep with honchkrow. at one point, he curses a dmg counter to my garchomp c lv x, then hits for 80. next turn (my garchomp is on the bench now) he curses again (putting it at 100 total) and plays seeker so he can pick up a crobat G and ping my garchomp for KO, but garchomp is on the bench, and so I pick it up. very crucial misplay on his part =\. I win by 4 or 5 prizes.

Jacob V w/ Garchomp C vs Scott P w/ Machamp/Umbreon
Another really cool guy who started out as a pokedad, but has grown a lot in skill, and so has his kids, which I think is realllly cool. I knew that BDK would be BTIF for this match up, and I was right. I was able to get exact KO's even though I had 2 poketurns and some other important stuff prized. took a couple prizes with chomp and I think uxie X as well. it went down to time and all of the +3 and he whiffed on getting another KO so I was able to take it with exact math on riot. the round of applause was pretty cool too

Lunch time. Chris (Mr. Raichu) didnt get to make his favorite lunch time joke, and ended up making a slightly worse one lol. but we love him anyway.
round 3
Jacob V w/ Garchomp C vs Jason S w/ LuxChomp w/ blaze and DGX techs
So I don't really remember much about this game, but I had promocroak available pretty quickly when I KO's something with bright look, and I usually decide that if I KO something and he sends up luxray and brightlooks, I spray it, cuz I dont want him to be able to bring up a garchomp or dragonite then KO it with HIS garchomp or dragonite, and that proved to work well. also playing a stadium then KOing something by defoging for 70 with staraptor FB lv x is amazing. I roserade locked his already leveled up uxie X, which helped me stall to set up for a couple turns. it gets down to time, and we end up keeping it tied until turn 3, when he deafens hoping I cant get a KO. I have garchomp c lv x on the bench, so I galactic switch my psychic to it. I had just promocroaked for a revenge KO when he started deafening IIRC, so I have to hit heads on leap away. heads (im pretty sure, lol). dang. send up uxie with unown Q, trade off into DCE. end. he deafens. I draw, attach DCE to garchomp and D-rush for game.
3-0, and I am fairly confident I will top since I really only need to win 1 more.
round 4
Jacob V w/ Garchomp C vs Andrew J w/ VileGar/mewtwo tech
He does his general trollin stuff while we are setting up saying I'm gonna start dragonite, blahblahblah, we got some laughs, brought some of the intensity of it all down, while me still being able to stay focused. I pile shuffled proably 3 times. and I start DRAGONITE FB AND NO CALL ENERGY. He T3 poltergeists for 120. thats stupid. we play again and he is able to KO my honchkrow on fainting spell and then he goes for mewtwo so I scoop lol. it was dumb, but I would have preferred the stupidity that is changing the outcome of a game on a coinflip that fainting spell consists of then getting poltergeist donked because I started with freiking dragonite. w/e.
round 5
Jacob V w/ Garchomp C vs Nicole I w/ LuxChomp/blaziken tech.
I didn't really like that we got paired up with eachother, because I got a ride from her and her boyfriend, Chris B, driving 2+ hours from Portland to get here. Whenever Nicole and I play against eachother, I get super poop and she steamroll 6-0's me, lol. We play a really great game, and we trade prizes for most of it after setting up and junk. at one point I have 1 spray in my hand and set up into my other 2 plus a KO to keep the prize trade going. I hack sometimes lol. we are even in prizes for most of the game, but I'm able to get the lead after abusing my ridiculous spray drawing ability, and I end up keeping it.
4-1 PHEW. made T4 there were like 18 masters so a 3-2 managed to make it in (Chris S.)

so yeah. we drove here together, and now we have to play each other in top 4? lame. but hey there were only 18 people, so I guess it was bound to happen at one point. I made a joke about this being a rematch from a time I lost to him in t2 and a battle roads last season.
Game1: This game was so great, and I was able to keep up the prize trade to a point, but he ended up being 1 prize ahead when it was 2-1 his favor. I planned out in my head to send up uxie, unown q it, fast call with staraptor lv x to either bait a spray or thin my deck out, level up and hopefully trade off into a KO so I can keep it tied, because I was fairly certain he couldnt KO me the next turn he got, and I could KO the turn after for game. but for w/e reason, I send up staraptor fb lv x. I realize I have no way to get a KO, and so I scoop game 1, mostly because I want to try to save time.
Game2: This game was considerably better than game 1. I start smeargle and stuff so I go 1st to hopefully portrait a collector. I do. lol. the prize trade is similar to game 1, but cort of reversed, because I was able to keep ahead. he portraits me and sees that I have energy gain, DCE, Garchomp C lv x and a poketurn, along with other stuff, and have active garchomp C lv x and a basic chomp on the bench. he isnt able to KO me so I take game 2.
Game3: I do not remember at all if this went down to time, but it was still VERY intense. prize trading occurs. I dont remember how exactly, mostly because at this point, it was really fuzzy, but I take game 3, because I was able to consistently promocroak his luxray after it KO's something, zen blade his uxie x, etc etc. then I had stuff to counter his garchomp and garchomp counters.
those were really great games chris! I really did enjoy them, especially since we are such good friends so it wasn't quite as stressful as it could have been. a very sincere GG.

I guess he put in mewtwo cuz people stopped playing mewtwo counters, and he was a bit upset cuz I play a mewtwo counter. lol.
Game1: I start with like ambipom DCE crobat and something else, going 2nd. i get a snap attack off and get 1-2 KOs with that ( cant remember lol). I get BDK set up and ram a gengar, tails on fainting spell. PHEW. do it again, tails. again. he scoops cuz i can pretty much steam roll after that. he had both his oddish prized. lol.
Game2: he goes for a fast gengar instead of vileplume, and after I get part of my honchkrow, he evolves to gengar prime and lost zones murkrow. CRAAAAAAAAAP. I draw a garchomp C lv X which I am unable to get out of my hand. he lost zones it. CRAAAAAP. I mess up really hard at this point. im up by like 3 prizes. I do some damage to his gengar prime with azelf, preventing him from poltergeisting. i get it to like 40. then I get a garchomp C lv x and either lock up again and then KO it next turn with some flashbite shenanigans, or d-rush something now and it gets KOed by gengar SF. I get my garchomp X, then lock up, realize how much I screwed up, and scoop since he can lost zone it.
apparently, I could have just played it out and let the time run out a bit more, since I can take really cheap prizes with garchomp C and/or roserade GL in game 3. and if game 2 went to time, and I lost, game 3 would be sudden death because of the new rules, so I COULD have just taken a very cheap prize via roserade GL or garchomp C, or even freaking ambipome G lol. but I didnt realize that because im generally not in the mindset of running down the clock as a strategy lol. oh well.
game 3: we both get a couple prizes when time is called, and he locks up my smeargle with azelf. I had absolutely no way of getting out of that, other than doing something I hoped I would never have to do. attack with smeargle. so I attach DCE to it, die a little inside, and flip double tails, then double heads next turn. im at 40 now. he retreats and shadow rooms smeargle, putting him up by 1 prize. I whiff on pretty much everything and cant get another prize, so I lose.
there were probably other things that happened throughout the Top2 games, but i am amazed I could remember that much since it was yesterday, and there was another cities today lol.
so I end 5-2. pretty good day if you ask me.
