Word.
Too sad that such a great event could suffer from both Lost World in metagame and Call of Legends as prizes. I doubt there will be anything done about the first problem in time, but at least the second could be solved easily.
None can be solved easily, as TO's are dependent on prize support they get. Format change would be too short in advance of a tournament, and is no solution at all. Did any of you realize that at SPTC's (also K32) this format is also the one that will be played?
Be fair, be reasonable. During CC's last month TO's got remarks by those that attend numerous CC's and win, that they "again" get Triumphant. Last year at Dutch Nationals, the new set was not allowed at the tournament, nor given as prizes, although release date was just 3 days later (so it was in fact logically to give the new set as prizes). Complaint: Why don't we get the new series, meantime scolding it being worse? When new series are about to be released everyone has comments that the next series is worser than any of the previous series. But, as soon as the new set is out, the "professional" players are the first ones to get the new cards and incorporate them in their decks. Where is the end of complaining? When will everybody be satisfied? Do you play for the prizes or for the rating and the fun? I sympathise with my players and sincerely would like to satisfy them with the prizes I am allowed (and provided) to hand out, but how can you have all players at one line of satisfaction? No TO can! Besides, usually LD's are running out of stock of former sets when the new one is about to be released.
The whole staff will be doing their best to make a marvelous event from the ECC 2011. Hope you appreciate that as well. We are still working on more interesting prize materials than boosters. This will be the first time the Regionals Trophies will be available at a tournament outside Canada and the USA.:thumb:
Focus on the positive, don't waste energy on the negative would be my advice.
