Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Oklahoma state championships

See y'all tomorrow! I will be in a Soilwork t-shirt for anyone who wants to trade  hope to do well, hope to meet some of you!

I'll be that kid in jeans, a button up shirt with rolled up sleeves, and khaki colored vans. I'm pumped to meet up with everyone tomorrow! Let the best man win.

I'll be the fat guy....well, one of the fat guys. In a beard. with a great kid with me! Looking forward to meeting Wily and Amphachu since we've done trades together!

Holy CRAP does my deck stink!!!!

Had a GREAT time. Was glad to meet Amphachu! Wish I could have met the rest of you. I can not believe how many different types of people play this game! that was really fun to see!

My sweet boy and I both finished 1 and 3. The one game that I did manage to win, was all luck. I felt bad for the guy.

Saw TONS of LuxChomp. Saw absolutely no LostGar! weird...

But I came away with winning two door prizes, I learned a lot, and had a ton of fun!

And of course, who do I end up with to put in the final nail in my coffin? The ONLY other guy from wichita, Edwarpy! Rediculous.

I had a mewtwo start and a Mewtwo X in my hand and I blew it thinking that Honchkrow was going to do me in. I woke up this a.m. thinking I should have been more patient waiting for energy and then maybe I could have made top 4. AAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!A God hand giving to a mortal . A fool and his pokemon cards are soon parted. Honchkrow you foiled my plans.

well, I made nearly my day's goal; I wanted to put Magnezone (and myself :p) in the top 4, but top 8 was really fun to reach too! by the way for all the smack talk, along with me at least one other person from top 8 was south texas I believe, so we definitely showed up too!

everyone really was pretty cool to play with all day, sorry if I did not exactly find any of you :( although I met some like Austin just by playing the top guys and trading I guess :) and you confused poke dad!

I would like to make a special comment about the State Tournament. I notice that people ask about Seniors and mainly masters, but I want to give props to the Juniors. I have to say that these two kids (Ryan H. and Ian M.) played one of the best games to watch I've ever seen in a tournament game. Both of them showed courtesy and enthusiasm while playing. Seeing them play makes me think about how the game should be played. It's to have fun, not to win. They showed true spirit of the game and I think that some of our older crowd could have learned from these two.

Top 4

Me (Josh Highlander) with Luxchomp vs Austin Cook with Luxchomp
I lost

Andy Meier with Luxchomp vs Kyle St. Charles with Luxchomp
Andy Lost

Top 2

Kyle St. Charles vs Austin Cook

Pretty good tournament, sucks that there it was mired some by the deck list problems. I enjoyed it myself, and had a blast. Darn for getting 4th. Can't wait for next weekend.

Interesting note:

4 Texas players in the top 4, with 4 Luxchomps. Food for thought.

Kyle ended up beating me 2-0 in Top 2. I had a decent setup game 1, though he had an amazing start, and I had supporter trouble in the beginning, but managed to get down to 2 prizes. Game 2 I just had a bad hand + bad prizes. It was a great tournament.
