The link isn't broken. The site is just having some technical difficulties. Keep trying, and you should be able to get through. I do love that the uniqlo snivy is included already. Ever since that card was released, I LOVED it for its amazing artwork. And the preview pack is just another treat.

I find it interesting that they aren't doing older packs with the new ones as the 3 booster blisters have done in the past. I always thought it was kind of annoying to have that one old pack that may have already been rotated... unless that extra pack was Platinum or Rising Rivals.

Wow. 10 steps forward, without another 10 steps back. This is amazing stuff. That online play "simulator" is not simple, and is VERY polished. I hope the final implementation is as fancy and "mature".

TCGO looks very slick. Hopefully, it's as fully-featured as I think it should be, including chat abilities, video feeds, and automatic card interactions for every possible play available. I especially hope that it impliments the card rulings correctly. it'd be a shame if it messed up something like Gengar Prime vs. Rescue Energy, as that's a huge ruling right now.

I can not see chat and/or video implemented. I know most people here are adults (not necessarily grown-up) but most users of pokemon.com are young children. Right now no parent control software stops access to the site, but it would if it enabled chat and/or video feeds. Also, can you imagine how many pissed off parents there would be after one of their children played a game and received chats from some of "adult" players.

Of course, it could be enabled only for masters, since they do have the age of the player, or at least an age the player said they were.

Scorpidad: Chat can include text as well (or instead). Just some way of communication between two players other than the game itself.

This is rather exciting! I look forward to playing this.

I'm wondering how one would be able to add to their collection? Would someone be able to buy virtual packs? Or do what Magic Online does and do it via Drafting/Limited play?

Also, what sets would be available upon launch? Only Black/White? Or Modified-tournament sets? I'd imagine the rest of the sets would be made available, but I wonder how long it'll take. More importantly, I wonder if they'll make available ALL Pokémon TCG cards, including Wizards sets (hopefully though something like Magic Online's "Master Edition"). OR will it just be something like Apprentice or LackeyCCG where all cards are available from the get-go, allowing players to make whatever decks they want from the start?

Regardless, being able to play online AND officially is uber-exciting!

I see a Mother's Kindess here, but the set symbols say from HGSS-on. However, at beta launch the HGSS theme decks will be available for sure.

Is this a full fledged game or just a flash game implemented on Pokemon.com? I'm guessing its the latter since I think this is to get kids to play the game, I'm guessing its going to be pretty awesome for a flash game but it won't be full of features players here may want if it was an actual game.

It looks like we're starting off with a basic flash game that lets us play precons against computer opponents, but eventually we're getting this.

The latter. It will be Flash- and browser-based, but not a simple Flash game. The entire thing will be a complicated simulator, unlike the current Pokemon.com; heck, it won't even be on Pokemon.com's mainsite.
