So after testing this deck, Magnezone Regirock AKA the Kraken, for a few weeks I decide to play it for Kansas states because it has really good matchups and it's a fun deck to play. On saturday I get up at 5 45 and get ready for the three hour drive to Kansas City. We leave at 6 and after a stop for breakfast get there at about 9 30 even though registration didn't start till 10. I turn in my deck list, buy the last magnemite I need from Cache, and go over to talk with the people from KC. I am informed that there is going to be a lot of vilegar, which is good for me. Round one pairings go up and I am super excited. Im terrible with names so I am probably just going to put the deck that I am facing for most of the rounds.

Round 1: Dusknoir/Gengar/Giratina Spread Deck
He starts giratina and starts spreading damage right away. I get out my tomb and magnemite and start getting set up, while healing with blissey. Once I start attacking I take six straight prizes and win 6-0. 1-0

Round 2: VileGar
I start magnemite to his tomb and gastly. I top draw mag prime with magneton in my hand so I just evolve the slow way while attaching each turn. Once I get mag prime up t2 I judge. He doesnt get a lot off judge and i am able to draw my hand back with mag. I start taking prizes relatively easily and don't have to face one feinting spell because of skuntank and sunnyshore. I end up winning 6-0. 2-0

Round 3: Chad Miller w/ VileGar
The surprise factor was not there this game because Chad already knew what I was playing. He gets t2 double gengar sf and starts shadow rooming my mag primes. First chance he gets he gets out gengar lv x since he knew I was using skuntank. I mess up on my first prize by lost burning two lightning energies and two were prized so I only had 1 left in my deck. I magnetic draw as much as i can till i draw the lightning energy and know I need to get out my magnezone sf to recycle that one lightning energy. We trade prizes till we are down to 2-2 and he is 0/3 on feinting spell heads. I am out of magnezone primes and it is turn one of +3. I drew the last card in my deck and I was going to fail a pokemon communication so I would not deck out but the turn before he got out his vileplume. I take one more prize on his spiritomb with regirock. He sends out his gengar prime and passes. Turn 3 of +3 I deck out. GG Chad, it is always fun to play you. 2-1

Lunch: I go to goodcents with Chad, Vance, Noah, Jared, Jack, and Charlene where there is great food and it was a minute walk away. We discuss how we are doing and look forward to the day ahead. Ohh ya and Noah whines about maybe having to face mewperior in round four.

Round 4: VileGar
I start skuntank so he is able to kill it on his third or fourth turn. I set up pretty good this game and start taking a prize a turn risking feinting spell each time. He goes 2 out of 3 on his feinting spells and I have one magnezone prime left and one prize and he has two. I kill his gengar lv x and he gets heads on feinting spell but it doesnt matter since that was my last prize. He played 3 twins throughout that game so I am not sure how I pulled that one out. 3-1

Round 5: Colin Moll w/ Gigas
I am able to start setting up ok with tomb while he starts drag off gigas. He starts attaching to his gigas while I darkness grace. He is psychic binding almost every turn the first few turns which is bad for me. When I get out to attack before he can get a 3rd energy or the lvl x on his gigas I try to kill it. I lost burn for 100 but I forget about his snowpoint temple while I had the belt in my hand. He gets the lvl x and the dce to fully power up and he sacrifices to heal his active. When +3 turns start I am turn one and the prizes are 3-3 after he has just knocked out my belted mag prime. I have to send up my spiritomb and pass cause I have no energy attached to bench mag prime. He retreats his uxie and sends up his let loose giratina for some reason and he has to attach a dce to it and pass. His bench is full so he cant psychic bind. I super conductivity to my tomb retreat and send up my magnezone prime. I attach and lost burn for the game winning knockout. good game. 4-1

Round 6: BLG
He starts ambipom and I start tomb. He attaches the dce and snap attacks thinking he has the win but I quickly remind him of my resistence and start setting up. He gets a early two prize lead with snap attack, but I have mag prime built up. I attach the belt and start taking a prize a turn and he only takes one more prize with dragon rush. I got the warp energies when I needed them, so I was able to pull out the win. 5-1

Round 7: Luxchomp
He is able to take two prizes pretty quickly but once I get my belted mag prime active with sunnyshore in and two regirocks benched, I am able to take prizes pretty quickly. I judge him in the middle of his cyrus chain while I am OHKO'ing anything he sends up and he isn't able to get anything going again. 6-1

So I knew I would make top cut since there were 66 masters and a top 16 cut. I see the standings and I'm the two seed.

Top 16: Luxchomp
Game 1: I let him get a two prize lead but when I take four straight prizes and he is still at 4 he scoops.
Game 2: I can't get anything going this game and scoop pretty early.
Game 3: This game is basically going just like game one except time is called when I have 5 prizes left and he has three. Turn one my belted mag prime is easily able to knock out his active. Turn two he bright looks my regirock and attaches a dce to his benched garchomp c and passes. Turn three I top deck a warp energy and knock out his lux x. The prize I draw is a bebes. First turn of sudden death he sends up his q'd smeargle and portraits my only supporter in my hand, the bebe I got from my prizes to get his garchomp lvl x to Dragon rush one of my bench. Basically I would have won if I had five more minutes or would have taken any of my other prizes.
6-2

So I made a good run with an awesome lesser known deck that everyone told me at the beginning of the day I was stupid to play.

Props:
Noah winning seniors
Kraken Deck being amazing
Jared getting second in seniors
Jack getting top 4 in masters
Chad top 16 in masters
Nick for the ride
Ferrell for the great event
Having a 20 hr day of fun

Slops:
Vance for being Vance
Losing in Top 16 cause of time
Vilegar being an average deck and being everywhere
PJ not being there
Pete being annoying about yugioh and water bottles

I was your Top 16 opponent. You defiantley would have won if not for time being called. Good job on your showing in Swiss though.
