Hey guys,
what do you think is to happen with SP's after black and white?
my opinion is that luxrays price will be decreased and we will more or less be using blaziken/garchomp and just use pokemon catchers instead of luxray. but then again, luxray has good meta game coverage as well.
(gyarados, kingdra, etc) so maybe just use as like a 1-1 tech.
because we are switching in with blaziken FB i think the recovery will have to be better to keep up with the knock outs. so maybe if we played 2 aarons and a vs seeker we would be fine.

idk, just thoughts.
discuss?

And theres the whole thing of SP starting and now suddenly allowed to play Cyrus, Gain, DCE, Garchomp C Good game...

Same thing will happen that happens after every new set . . .

SP decks get some more tricks to use.

Along those lines, I also could see Revive making an impact in SP decks as well. With the healing effect of Garchomp C, LV.X you essentially get another round with whichever SP attacker you want. Add in premier ball to get the LV.X back, and you essentially gain another Garchomp in the Garchomp war.

Now, if Platinum is rotated in an unusual mid-season format change, then I see the impact of B&W to SP as being the only thing that keeps it alive. And even so, without E-Gain it'll be a shadow of its former self.

Nobody plays Pokémon Rescue in SP now, which is essentially Revive but better.

You know, you're right.

My whole thought process behind that was originally that you could immediately level up the Pokemon you got back with Revive, but upon looking at the rule book I have come to the conclusion that you couldn't. So then, I retract my statement about Revive which could see some play in SP decks, but likely will not see any.

^Dusk Ball isn't used.

SP gets new toys, will continue to dominate

Why fix what isn't broken? The Cyrus engine is still alive and kicking and Vilegar's playability has gone down. Next format when it will hopefully be RR-on? Not so much. Even with the most viable SP pokemon (Luxray/Blaze/Garchomp) still in format, they need that engine to be incredibly efficient. I assume we will still see Luxray GL Level X around, but its usability will drop to tech level at least which will also drop its price.

Luxchomp will still be a powerful deck. However I see Dialgachomps ability to play waning simply because Zoroark can Remove Lost for one DCE away all of Dialga G LX's tankability. I know most SP isn't reliant on their attack, but ganking an attack that has no drawbacks to the user with good damage for one DCE is kind of devastating. And oh yeah, Zoroark can also Dragon Rush for ONE DCE. XD

As for the remainder of the season? SP will still hang around. The only things BW brings us are Cinccino, Zoroark, and a buttload of trainers. (And hopefully NOT a rule change)

Luxray will see very little use as a tech. Why tech a LvX when you can tech a trainer?

That's like saying, "why use gardevoir's psychic lock to stop powers when you could just drop a mesprit." Or, "why use telepass when you could just play a supporter yourself." That's not really a very good argument considering there's much more to any pokemon than one attack or one power. Lux x is what wins the gdos matchup for luxchomp. It is also used to attack in plenty of other situations. It is more easily searched for and it isn't affected by trainer lock.
