POKEMON STORE: The Pokemon Store, run by Mrs. BDS, was a huge hit at the Oregon State Championships. She saved some great items for Regionals and is working hard to get more of the popular items that sold out at States. She should have a good selection and the prices are affordable. In addition to all the unique, hard to find Pokemon merchandise we will also have a selection of boosters and theme decks from most of the recent sets.

DS TOURNAMENT: We had about 60 players in the DS tournament at Oregon States, so we’re going for 100 at Regionals. The tournament will be going on throughout the day between rounds of the TCG tournament. You will be required to bring your own DS and game. There will be Pokémon merchandise for prizes, and everyone that participates will get an entry ticket for the Mega-Raffle! We will structure this tournament in a way that those people participating in the main TCG tournament can still participate in the DS tournament so come and do both.

DS TOURNAMENT RULES:
  • All players participating must be using a Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver catridge.
  • A team of 4-6 Pokemon must be assembled.
  • All battles must be done under the Flat Battle option and please select GS CUP. These are 2 on 2 Double battles with 4 out of your 6 pokemon.
  • No two of the same species of Pokemon
  • No two of the same held items
  • The only banned item is SOUL DEW.
  • You may not put more then one of your opponent's Pokemon to sleep with attacks like Sleep Powder. (which means the attack "Dark Void" is banned)
  • Battles ending in a draw due to "Sacraficial Moves" such as Explosion or Destiny Bond will result in a lost for the player using those attacks.
  • Battles ending in a draw due to recoil attacks like Volt Tackle, Flare Blitz, or the held item Life Orb will go to a 1-on-1 sudden death. Deposite all other pokemon on your Team into your PC.

LEAGUE PLAY: You can spend your time before, after and between rounds of the main event battling with old friends and new acquaintances, and every one of those battles entitles you to a pick from the card box at the League Headquarters. In the box are hundreds of Pokemon cards from years past, BUT sprinkled throughout the box are some special cards that get you great Pokemon prizes!

FUN ZONE: We will have Pokemon related activities such as Pokemon Rumble battles and a creative center for expressing your artistic skills. If you came to Oregon States you know how much fun this was, and our staff have plans to make it even better at Regionals!

2011 Northwest Team Championship: 6th Annual

OK this has to have been the fasted Pokemon year yet. And now that States are over that ca nonly meant that Regionals and the Northwest Pokemon Team Championship is hear. Just like last year we e will be getting a Team Championship registraton table in the Side event area of the Regional Championships. So to register your team this year, just head over to pick up a registraton slip, or turn in one of your own. I just need three things on your registration slip; 1) the name's and POP ID #'s of the players on your team 2) who your team captain is and 3) what your team name is. We will continue with having teams of no less then 3 players and no more then 6 players, all must be in the same age group. So a team must be made up of only Junior players or only Senior players or only Master players. (As 6 is the number of Pokemon in your Gameboy game party this limit seems to work on this fomrat as well)

IF you know early who is going to be on your team you may register it early. You can post here or if you want more privacy you mail email me at [email protected] (please no PM's on this as I only have 50 slots) Please one post or email per team, not each member. This post/email will have to be made by the player chosen as the team Captain. This player must provide me with the Team name, Team Captains name and the roster of the Particpating players. That way the team will not have to fill out a blank form on the day of the event. I will have a printout ready for them. The team Captain must pick up the preprinted pregistration form from me before the tournement starts and verify that the roster is correct and all players are present at the Regional Championship. I will have blank forms so you can still create teams on the day of the event. Once the 1st round of the Regional Championship starts all rosters are final. Lastly the Team Captain will serve one last function. In the event of a tie between two teams, the only tiebreaker will be who placed higher in the final Swiss standings between the two opposing team captains. We have not had any ties as before but we have had some close calls, so we now have an official tiebreaker.

I would once again like to thank BDS for allowing Pokemon No Baka and myself to conduct the team play chamionship durring this years Northwest Regional Pokemon Championship. We will be using the exact same format as the last few years

Here are the official rules for the 2011 6th Annual Northwest Pokemon TCG Team play championship.

The event will take place during the swiss play portion of the Northwest Regional Championship.

There will be three team championship tournaments one for each age group, Juniors, Seniors and Masters.

Teams will consist of not fewer then 3 players and not more then 6. All members must be made up of players from the same age group. If your group had 7 players then you will have to separate into 2 teams, one of 4 players and one of 3.

Only the top 3 players from your team will figure in for your team score. But all players on the team are important to the overall scoring of the tournament as they can effect the scores of rival teams.

The event will be scored like a Cross-country meet in that the team with the lowest overall score will be declared the winner. Scores will be determined via the final Swis standing (including all applicable tiebreakers) after all swiss rounds are complete for that age groups Regional Championship play.

The scores of players who do not opt to participate on a team will have the possibility of providing an influence on the scores of the teams in the competition.

Here is an example of scoring:
26 players in the age group

Team A has 4 players after swiss the finish scores are: 4, 8, 11 & 12
Team A's score of (4+8+11) = 23

Team B has 6 players after swiss the finish scores are: 3, 5, 16, 17, 20 & 24
Team B's score of (3+5+16) = 24

Team C has 5 players after swiss the finish scores are 1, 9, 18, 19 & 22
Team C's score of (1+9+18) = 29

Team C has 3 players after swiss the finish scores are 2, 10 & 13
Team C's score of (2+10+13) = 25

Team A would be declared the winner.

The remaining 8 players that did not choose to be on a team finished 6, 7, 14, 15, 21, 23, 25 & 26
and their performance did have an impact on the overall scores of the teams in the competition.

Duuudddeee I live in FG. You're looking at about an hour an a half from FG to Salem.

Since I got the Stomach Flu from my parents and wasn't able to make it to Tacoma my parents promised they would pay for my travel ways to the next biggest tourney. Salem here I come!

Its funny cause I was so ready for States and now I have to wait another month. At least this gives me time to master and edit my new deck. It tears apart my Honchsol deck.
