Ariados lv. X

Ariados LV. X HP130

:pbody:sticky web

As long as Ariados is your active pokemon, the defending pokemon can't retreat

:grass: Venomous Bite 10
Flip a coin. If heads, the defending pokemon is now paralyzed. If tails, the defending pokemon is now poisoned

:grass::grass::colorless: Draining Bite 80

Remove from Ariados a number of damage counters equal to half the damage you did to the defending pokemon, rounding up to the nearest twentieth.

Put this card onto your active Ariados. while in play, Ariados lv. x can use any attack, pokepower, or pokebody from its previous level.

That actually does look quite good. You might want to put in the rounding clause, though? (rounded up or down in the case of doing an odd multiple of ten of damage. )

So if it does 70 do you heal 30 or 40?

Not sure how I feel about this. The legal Ariados already increases retreat, so the LvX seems to totally counteract its basic.

maybe they could print a new ariados, or I could change this to ariados prime?

@ shuckle: solution is to reprint ariados UF and change venomous bite to searing neurotoxin (or something) with the effect changed to burned instead of poisoned! also, the ariados you mentioned is too old now. HGSS is the only legal ariados. :(

You could change Venomous Bite to an attack that increases in power the higher the Defending Pokemon's Retreat Cost is, then you could even still keep Ariados Lv.X's current Poke-Body and its previous level's Body would still be somewhat useful.

Although I don't think it matters much, not all Ariados have that Body that increases Retreat Cost and none of them increases it by more than 1.

the ariados that increases retreat cost is no longer legal. The only one is HGSS: http://pokegym.net/forums/view.php?pg=towercard&imageid=49830

when I came up with ariados lv. x, I didn't realize that the legal ariados already heals itself. This is why I think it might do better as a pokemon prime.

the other solution is to reprint the ariados from unseen forces, but if it happens, it won't be anytime soon.

Give it a move like spider trap. best ariados ever

That ariados is the unseen forces one that I was speaking of earlier that I would like to be reprinted. This Ariados, in my opinion, would go very well with ariados lv. X. If I were to give ariados lv. X/prime the move spider trap, I would have to take out another of his moves to make room. I think if ariados leveled up from the spider trap one, it could reach its full potential.

I was referring to previous Ariados that have the Body that increases Retreat (.... Duh >__<).

Yeah sorry about that. >___> Maybe an attack that Burns, adds any other Special Condition or increases in power when the Defending Smasher has any Special Conditions on it would be useful.

I am not sure that I understand. could you give me an example?

[G][C][C]- Drag Off (60)

The defending Pokemon is asleep and poisoned. Before doing damage, you may switch the active Pokemon with a new benched Pokemon.

What he said.

Also, when's the last time you saw a LV. X say LV. X after the name of the Pokémon? As long as Ariados is your active pokemon, the defending pokemon can't retreat.

Remove from Ariados...

I only really like the body on this card. I'd be more happy if Venomous Bite dealt at least 10 damage. Also, please capitalize Ariados's name and the first word of your sentences.

I think Draining Bite should be worded the same as Giga Drain. Rounding damage would be too much calculating and would make a person's head hurt.
