4-3-1 Raichu
1 Unown Q
4 Smeargle
2 Rayquaza LA
2 Pachirisu CL
2 Uxie LA

19 Pokemon

13 Lightning Energy

2 Sunyshore City Gym
1 Conductive Quarry
1 Luxury Ball
2 Pokemon Communication
1 Pokemon Rescue
1 Warp Point
1 Switch
1 Expert Belt
3 Seeker
3 Engineer's Adjustments
1 Palmer's Contribution
2 fisherman
3 professor Oak's New Theory
3 Pokemon Collector
3 Bebe's Search

28 Stadiums/Trainers/Supporters

Strategy: Smeargle start, maybe pikachu, and use portrait to set up or recharge to get energy into play. Pachirisu can put energy into play quickly so i should be able to get a 'Mega Thunderbolt' out quickly for some easy prizes. Rayquaza can get energy back into play from the discard, should get an average of 1 every turn. Fisherman is also useful for picking up energy so i can use Raichu Lv.X's attack

This deck looks like a fun one. What set(s) are the Pikachu and Raichu from? And if you're running that Rayquaza, you should run some Fire energy too. Also, some Pokemon that would benefit from Raichu would help. 2 PONT would be fine. 3 isn't really needed, in my opinion. Maybe take out that Switch for something too. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know

The Pikachu are the HGSS promos, and all the raichu are prime, i was going to use the HGSS one but it seemed to hurt consistancy.

I did change it before the tournament:

-1 PONT
-1 Engineers
+2 Interviewers

and it turned out to be rather consistent, the main problem is playing against luxray gl or other fun pokemon which drag up rayquaza. In the case of pokemon which use attacks to drag up rayquaza such as blaziken. ive found that switch was more useful as i could then KO his blaziken so i am going to keep switch.

it went 4-2 narrowly missing out on top cut, mostly due do my errors. for example, during one match i leveled up raichu and called voltage shoot, forgetting to move, the energy onto raichu.

For dealing with umbreon my plan was to use lvx to snipe around it and hopefully charge up a pikachu to finish it.

And i believe spiritomb would slow it down for a couple of reasons: 1 i have 3 evolution cards and 2 i like playing trainers

As i have said, this deck has potential and someone who can actually play well to use it, most likely it will take your opponent by surprise, especially the Lv.X, being able to ko their active and something on the bench can make a great comeback

I love this idea of a deck, I always tried it when SF first came out but it just lacked power.
I think raichu prime solved that problem, being able to pretty much KO the active or destroy the bench.
Thanks for posting the deck.

As for ammendments, there isn't much I would change. Maybe include Uxie LvX?
I would also try to fit in an Azelf, considering you only run 1 Raichu LvX.
If you do add Uxie LvX, i'd recommend running 1 premier ball to get it back from your discard pile along with raichu lvX.
Lastly if you honestly feel like including 4 smeargle, I'd recommend including more pokemon communication because it will most likely be a dead card later on in the game, unless of course vilegar is common in your area.

Other than that it looks pretty solid, congrats!

About the smeargle, it has helped me make late game comebacks, as well as helping set up. And Uxie Lv.X, i know it could help but i dont plan on getting one so thats off the table. And testing with azelf, the bench slot it took up often hurt my set up, stopping me from setting up an extra raichu or using pachirisu to get more energy into play.

if i was to remove smeargle, what would you recommend i replace it with?

I'm not saying it's a dead card late game, i'm just saying having 3 of them in your hand and 1 on the field is overnecessary, as spiritomb would be. So a card to replace it back into your deck was what I meant. I think you don't need to replace it from the deck.
I think azelf is very important to include, and if you need to you can use seeker to pick it up.
Uxie LvX,fair enough it's a hard card to get.

I'm pretty sure that was VS me :p

Again sorry for that, I would normally let people to have take backs but at tournaments at such as States or Nats I can't =/ sorry lol

Anyway the deck worked a lot better then I expected and it was great to play against.

Cool. One last q. What changes would you make for the next format change in which you can not play rayquaza or conductive quarry? How do you anticipate this deck to be after the change? Thanks!

The main loss for this deck would be raichu lv.x, but thinking about it the deck could still work, fisherman and pachirisu with max seeker and even energy retrieval should allow raichu prime to do quick damage, and hopefully Sunyshore will still be in modified format so :fighting: pokemon wont rip it apart.

Also Pokemon catcher could see some use as this deck will most likely be able to 1hko most things (140 damage with belt) At the moment rayquaza is the deck's main weakness as it has a retreat cost of 3

if its RR-on im thinking something like this, unless a different useful card comes out.

4-4 raichu prime
4 smeargle
3 pachirisu cl

13 lightning energy

4 pokemon catcher
3 pokemon communication
2 VS seeker
2 energy retrieval
2 Expert Belt
3 pokemon collector
3 engineers
2 pont
3 bebe's
2 fisherman
3 Seeker
3 sunyshore

Oh yeah, rules, translations for possible upcoming B&W cards following

energy retrieval- Search your discard pile for up to 2 basic Energy cards, show them to your opponent, and put them in your hand.

pokemon catcher- Search your discard pile for up to 2 basic Energy cards, show them to your opponent, and put them in your hand.

strategy for this deck would be to just constantly reuse pachirisu to charge up raichu prime, smeargle for start.

wow, thank you sooo much. You've been an enormous help. I can't wait until I can assemble this deck. Great post and deck idea!
