This thread is amazing! Idk if it can hold all the egos o.o"

Personal opinion: Serperior will be a big contender.

There is a promo shuckle that has a pokebody for when every time you attach an energy from your hand to shuckle you may draw a card.

lostgar will be at the top tables thier no really sniping decks to hurt it to badly. emboar res. rush will be thier too and the shocker zekrom will be maybe yanmega makes it thier. going hgss july first is good for the game and so we dont have a donk nats but still i rather play in a donk format right now then buying a new deck and basicly hoping for the best at nats so im pretty sure i wont be going to nats this year lol

100% - with Seeker, SSU, and Unown Return (with no Sprays/Mesprits), why WOULDN'T you play Shuckle as your draw engine?

Because sometimes you flip a lot of tails. Seriously I've lost test games with Shuckle/Unown after getting something like 6+ tails in a row on SSU (Junk Arm). Agree that massive tails runs aren't going to happen every game ... but you asked why someone might want a non-flip dependant engine.

I'll also note (probably again) that Typhlosion sets up Outrage too which is sometimes all you need.

With seeker and unown return, you have 2 automatic no flips, and with shaymin, you can attach all the energies, without worrying about attacking.

I don't use SSU - I was just pointing out that it could be used. Unown Return/Seeker (and Shaymin is ok, but you may want to keep most of the energies in hand for later) really are the best options.

I barely ever use ssu.. Usually once out of every 2 games it helps. Other than thy unown r and seeker let's you draw like 8-9 catda

Ok, so we have playtested two matchups with Zach Fisher, a very respected player.

Typhlosion vs. Emboar, obviously both using Reshiram as an attacker. The verdict is that Typhlosion is more consistent. We played about 5 games and it was 4-1, the game that he beat me I misplayed by getting a regular Typhlosion when I really had a Prime out. If I get my second Prime out, it would have been a much more interesting game. All the other games, Typhlosion consistency and speed was just too much for Emboar. For "stat" keeping purposes he was using Shuckle. So results may vary if Emboar is using Ninetales, but probably not by much.

Then we have also play Reshiram/Typhlosion vs. Zekrom/Pachi/Shay. We played 4 games, and I didn't take a prize once as I kept whiffing on energy. So Zekrom might be too consistent for Reshiram/Typhlosion.

I've been looking at the cards and sure Emboar is good and Typhlosion is good as well. The thing is it comes down to how you want to use it. Me, I would go with Typhlosion because 1, it looks pretty and 2, it does not get bet by Judge. Both builds should run the same energy but at the end of the day, if and attack is making me didcard energy, I'd rather have a way to get them back and then abuse Max Potion.

The bad thing, you'll need 2 or 3 out where you only need 1 Emboar out to be effective. Then again, it still comes down to opening hand. The Typhlosion build would benefit from Ninetales more but it would take a lot of bench space. I would say try to play them both because they are both good.

Just the Typhlosion build suffers more from Pokemon Reversal and Pokemon Catcher.

How is that? Emboar lines has higher retreat cost than Typhlosion. Emboar list, at least personally haven't seen ran with Switch. So unless you can get all that energy to attached to it, you'll have a sitting duck out there. Even if you do attach to it, your doing a mere 80, while being 2HKO back and most likely lose that game as your energy accelerator/ENGINE (if being played with Shuckle) is gone and you didn't prepare for that happening. Not the case with Typhlosion, as like I said I'll usually (80%+ of games) have a second Typhlosion Prime out by T5. Sometimes i will actually could have all 3 typhlosions out by like T7 or T8.

just saying, don't mean to troll just an observation

It's stupid to not run switch. I would. The reason I said that is because Typhlosion would need 2 or 3 lines on the bench to be effective while Emboar needs only 1 and can hurt setup if PR or PC is being spammed. One plays from the hand and one plays from the discard pile.

Both builds should run Unown Return anyway and you're not trolling, just trying to understand and there is nothing wrong with that.
