Anyone know a good one? I need a splashable tech, as i'm finding it to be a difficult matchup and i'm wondering if anyone knows any good/solid donphan counters. Thanks

Can't think of anything overly splashable off the top of my head. Yanmega + a good Seeker line might help against that, and other matchups.
 
Yanmega is splashable in almost anything, and happens to be a decent/effective donphan counter. Crobat Prime is another that comes to mind. It laughs in the face of donphan...
 
Yanmega is not a good Donphan counter at all. It 3 shots it. Crobat Prime is OK, but Donphan runs switch now.

But donphan also three-shots yanmega as long as it doesn't have 3 fighting attached. Plus, Yanmega is easier to move around and heal with seeker or whatever. I feel like yanmega would just be sort of a wall as you snipe around the donphan. It's just a really versatile tech in any situation.
 
Yanmega really is a great Donphan counter, from my testing.

Since you seem pretty against it, though, Lanturn Prime isn't bad, especially in Zekrom, since it can turn water and one-shot Donphan. Of course, it gets 1-shotted back, though.
 
The sniping ability was just an option. It really depends on what you're running with it. For example, I'm running mag prime with yanmega right now. I snipe around donphans setting up future ko's while I attach to my bench getting ready for ohko's on donphans. If you're running a speed deck like zekrom or something, it might not be a bad idea to add in plus powers which could give you the 2 hit ko on donphans.
 
Kingdra Prime. Spray splash + Dragon steam leaves Donphan at 10, so if they dont get it healed up, just spray slash again on your next turn.
 
I think most of you don't quite get the concept of a splashable tech...

A splashable tech is NOT a stage 2 line.

@DarthPika- You're absolutely right. That is what makes Yanmega work. It may not be the best, but boy is it versatile. Crobat Prime can be splashed into Mew decks to counter Donphan.
 
Swanna is the best donphan counter around. Stock up on them while you can, because i already know a lot of people trading for them. I have my 2-2 RH Swanna:)
 
It beats Cinccino, magnezone, and Zekrom whilst being able to hold its own against ReshiBoar....how the heck will it not be popular??
