Also, as a side note, there is no apostrophe used when referring to more than one "EX." An apostrophe would indicate posession in that case, such as:

"That EX's ability is totally broken!" So, "I am so glad EX's are coming back" begs the question "EX's WHAT?" Anyway, here endeth the English lesson. Please stop making my brain explode!

Except it doesn't sound right to the reader. EX's sounds it it would be pronounced e-x-is. EXs sounds like it would be pronounced x-is. At least that's how it is to me. It's a made up game mechanic, no need to get technical on the grammar.

Aerodactyl's successor, the return of Rocket's Admin and Gust of Wind has me so hyped.

For those complaining about format-breaking cards, I welcome them with open arms, simply because I've been playing since Base Set.

I think DCE is fine to reprint. The only reason it was as disgusting as it was, was simply because of Garchomp C LV. X was around. Heck, it was because of SP's in general. Luxray could use it, Dialga could use it, and much, much more. I think it'll be fine with Lost Remover in the picture, as well as the approaching Crush Hammer (which I refuse to call it that when it's really Energy Removal 2, but, that's for another time).

I, too, welcome the "strategy creep". It's about time, imo.

I dont think that just changing the caps on ex will change the mechanic. As long as ex/EX keeps the old two prize rule we should be fine being as that pretty much balanced them at the time. Excited to see rockets admin back.

Eh, I'm not worried about powerful EX Pokemon. They'll have double weakness and Rayquaza/Deoxys Legend could possibly take 3 prizes on them.

You won't sell much sealed product without chase cards. It's been that way for every trading card set since the early '90s. Remember, OP isn't the cards' largest market.

From Purdue.edu:

"Apostrophes are used to form plurals of letters that appear in lowercase; here the rule appears to be more typographical than grammatical, e.g. "three ps" versus "three p's." To form the plural of a lowercase letter, place 's after the letter. There is no need for apostrophes indicating a plural on capitalized letters, numbers, and symbols (though keep in mind that some editors, teachers, and professors still prefer them)."

TL;DR: ex's is correct. EX's is not necessarily correct, but not everyone thinks it's wrong.

So should we start making baseless speculations about what the new EX mechanic is yet or what we hope it could be, assuming it is different than the old one

Like what if it was a modified kind of LV X like a released form of a pokemon or something like mewtwo EX goes on top of mewtwo? Or maybe they just changed the name and its identical to how it was before.

I doubt my baseless speculation is right, as it has absolutely no foundation or reasoning, but I guess I'd just like to see a new mechanic brought into the game, although ex was really cool.

As someone said before, I just don't get why they would reuse the letters "e" and "x," capped or not, to introduce a new mechanic, especially when it's only been a few years.

You want some foundation and reasoning?

I think it only makes sense if they're the same as before. They could be slightly modified or something, but for the most part, they would function the same.

Imagine this: Mars, inc. comes out with a product called M&M's. Then after a few years, they stop making M&M's and start cranking out Snickers bars. A few years after that, they begin making a new product called m&m's (notice the difference in capitalization), but they're a totally different candy than before. We're not talking version 2.0 formula here (i.e. bringing back a slightly modified ex mechanic), we're talking total different candy.

The confusion that would create... No sensible company is going to do that... I hope.
