the PTCGO website has been updated.Back to square one it seems.The update is still ongoing,but basically its the things that have been announced to be there-the basic features such as trainer challenge,avatar creation and the shop.The forums on there is still available too.Multiplayer is gone though.

The following are some additional terms of use for your participation in TCGO. Playing the TCGO requires registration and creation of a Pokémon Trainer Club Account at www.pokemon.com <http://www.pokemon.com/> with a user name, password, and such contact and other information as we require. Once your registration information has been entered, your account will be created. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your username, password and other account information.
We hope that by participating in the Beta or Test version of TCGO, you will help us make the game better for everyone else. We may provide you with opportunities to let us know what works and what doesn’t work with TCGO. If you respond to any of our requests for information or if you report errors in TCGO or any other problems you discover with TCGO, you understand that Pokémon will own such feedback. It’s also important to the success of TCGO that you don’t tell everyone about any errors or problems you discover. Therefore, you also agree to keep any errors or problems you discover confidential.
You will not: (a) reproduce, distribute, disclose or create derivative works based on the contents of TCGO, or any part thereof; (b) decompose, disassemble or reverse engineer TCGO, or any part thereof, or otherwise use TCGO to develop functionally similar products or services; (c) modify, alter or delete any of the copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices in or on TCGO; (d) use TCGO for the benefit of any third party, including without limitation, in an outsourcing, service bureau or timesharing arrangement; or (e) avoid, circumvent or disable any security or digital rights management device, procedure, protocol or mechanism in TCGO.
We may at various times permit you to use “real world” money to buy in-game virtual currency (“Gems”) that will permit you to buy certain virtual in-game products and services in TCGO. You may only purchase Gems in the amount and at times permitted by TCGO in its sole discretion. You may only purchase Gems for your personal use. You agree to pay all fees and applicable taxes incurred by you or anyone using an account registered to you. For all charges for any Gems sold on TCGO, we will bill your credit card or alternative payment method offered by TCGO. You agree that you will not cancel or reverse any charges for such Gems or otherwise attempt to defraud us. In the event that your credit card or alternative payment provider refuses to pay us for an amount credited to your account, we will have the right to delete the Gems or the products or services purchased with such Gems from your account. In the event legal action is necessary to collect on balances due, you agree to reimburse us for all expenses incurred to recover sums due, including attorneys’ fees and other legal expenses.
ALL PURCHASES OF GEMS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. All features, content, capabilities, and specifications of the virtual in-game items described or depicted on TCGO are subject to change at any time without notice. The inclusion of any virtual in-game items on TCGO at a particular time does not imply or warrant that these virtual in-game items will be available at any or all times. If your TCGO account is set to enable trading, you may be able to trade Gems and certain virtual in-game items for other virtual in-game items with other TCGO players. You acknowledge and agree that your decision to enter into any trade of virtual in-game items from TCGO is solely at your discretion and at your own risk. We do not screen trading partners. We make no guarantee that any trade will be satisfactory or that trades will be a fair exchange of value between the parties. We reserve the right to determine in our sole discretion which virtual in-game items may be traded between and among players. In some cases, traded virtual in-game items may only be traded for similar items (e.g. a rare card may only be traded for another rare card). In no event may you trade any virtual in-game items for “real” money, any other good or service outside of TCGO, or any promise to provide certain products or services whether in-game or outside the game. Any attempt to trade outside TCGO or trade a prohibited item may result in your account being suspended or terminated.

what the terms of use tells us:
test period will end on 16th of August,2012 is probably meant in here
 
Everywhere I click, I get a response: "Sorry, the shop is down for maintenance" regarless if I click on Article, Community, Download or somewhere else...
 
I had a quick view on the game (and did run away as fast as I could from it)
I could not read anything due to way to small characters.
And the angle of the "field" gave me a headache at first view.
 
This already isn't promising.

As a huge supporter of this game I try not to be all doom and gloom about it's future, but this version of the game is equally as bad as the old version, just differently bad. The interface in battle is awful, the animations are awful, the sound effects are awful, the graphics are awful, the opponent moves way, way too fast, ect. Seriously, this is all you've gotten working? And you don't even have a Mac version or in-browser version working? (and yes, I know for a fact the engine they use has a good in-browser option, which ought to be used along with the option to download the client)

Shape up, guys! You are potentially shooting yourself in the foot AGAIN.

Don't be so quick to judge just yet. Remember this is very beta.

I hope that the Mac is supported soon!
 
Beta or not, if I need to clean my glasses and find out the fields stays unclear it's bad.
I judge on what I see now.
 
Not a huge fan of the new interface, I prefered the old one although it's nice that the program doesn't lag anymore. I wish they would add the Collection, trade system and single player soon though. Trainer challenge is awful.
 
Guys, this has been out for all of half a day, so calm down a little. The whole point of it being in beta is to find these errors and fix them. If you think something needs changed or you find a bug, report it, that's the whole point. Think of this as an entirety new game (since it pretty much is), don't come into this with any preconceived notions based on the previous version.
 
Wow this is lightning fast and full screen once all the changes are implemented this is going to be a far better version than the Flash version.
 
I gave the new version a try just now. I must say, I agree that the UI isn't as appealing as the previous version, but now that it's not in Flash anymore, it's lightning fast. I'll take lightning fast over a sexy UI any day. With more updates, this looks to be very, very promising.

146 MB download is clogging my intertubes.

I just noticed there are no system requirements for this game. Are they published anywhere?

Has anybody gotten this to work on WinXP? Or is this Win7/Vista only?

HOLY RESOURCE HOG, BATMAN!!! This thing's taking up half a gig of RAM space, and is fairly consistently the biggest hogger of my CPU resource. What in blazes is this thing doing?

I can't do anything else with this thing until it stops eating my resources and starts actually, y'know, working correctly...

Lia, I see what you're talking about. The GUI is rather poor at the moment. I can't see how many or of what type of energy are attached to my Pokemon, and there's no way to look underneath them right now. The wording is obnoxiously small, especially on my 8.5x11 screen.

While I'm playing, I have no idea what my opponent's doing at any time. I'm just praying that the rules engine is working correctly, cuz I can barely keep up with what's going on.

I'm hoping that the interface gets a severe upgrade in the near future. Right now, it's near unplayable.

As far as the setup interface... I'm not sure if this is just my own machine, but I can't see any icons anywhere. I can't see the different decks available to me. I can't choose my opponent. There's no differentiation between "on" and "off" for the menu options.

I'm happy that this is now an install client. I'm sad that the GUI has taken such a hit from where it was before.

As a completely random question...

Will the client automatically update itself when I start it up? I sincerely hope so. It would be annoying as heck if I had to re-download that big thing. It would be broken if I had no idea that I needed to upgrade anything...
 
Lol I have never had an opponent playing that fast.
I am also not sure about the rules engine because of the speed.

I hope the way to " report a bug/error" is improved.
 
here is the news for MAC users


Due to the new version of the Trainer Challenge requiring a downloadable client, we opted to complete and test the Windows version of the game prior to porting and polishing a Mac version. We understand that including the Mac system requirements in the community update earlier this month was premature. We intended to indicate that the Mac client was in the works, but it appears that this message gave the community the impression that it would be launching at the same time as the Windows client. We apologize for this confusion.

The Mac client is scheduled to release later this year. We apologize for any disappointment this decision causes our Mac users and would like to assure you that this decision was not made lightly. We will provide schedule and development updates on the Mac version as the launch window comes more into focus.
