Great job guys for a good round. The scoring was definitely VERY hard for this round. I think I made a mistake for the challenge really. I will make it a much better challenge next round.

Without too much information here, I will simply post the Pods in numerical order with scores, and the exact list of the winner of the round for each Pod. It will include the exact list, and the strategy or synopsis in which they provided for me. I will also give a quick bio of what I thought about the deck and why they got the score they got. The scoring will be as follows:
Deck X/10 Creativity/Card Use X/10 Final Score X/20.

Here we go.

Basic Strategy

The main idea behind this deck is to use Chandelure's Cursed Shadow ability to compliment Darkrai-EX's Night Spear attack by strategically dropping damage counters here and there to set up KOs. In order to maximize Chandelure's power, multiple Cursed Shadows can be used each turn thanks to receiving free retreat with Darkrai's Dark Cloak ability and Vanilluxe's Slippery Soles ability. That's the basic idea, now down to the individual cards.

Darkrai-EX
Darkrai's Night Spear does a solid 90 damage, and also has a snipe for 30. Combined with Chandelure's ability, KOs can be easily taken on that benched Sableye, or future KOs can be set up on higher hp EX Pokemon. Also, Dark Cloak gives Chandy free retreat, allowing for Cursed Shadows to be spread before attacking with Darkrai.

Litwick (BW 27)
Mainly used for its Call for Family attack, which guarantees a turn 1 Darkrai-EX or Vanillite on the bench for just one energy.

Lampent (NVI 59)
Lampent's Luring Light attack is awesome, especially with Pokemon Catcher being restricted. Needing only 1 energy of any type makes it easy to use and abuse. With a lot of Darkrai-EX in the format, many decks don't struggle for long when things get dragged up, so Luring Light is manly a way to stall until you can get your Chandys and Vanilluxe up and running, but it works early game and late game once Switches have been used up and your opponent is running low on resources. Luring Light is also your #1 go to move when facing Garbodor, as it pretty much shuts down everything in the deck.

Chandelure (NVI 60)
Being able to drop 3 damage counters anywhere in any way you like is pretty nice, and gives Darkrai a bit of a sniping boost. Darkness weakness hurts, especially with Darkrai in the format, but hopefully, with Vanilluxe/Switch/Dark Cloak, Chandy should only be popping in and back out of the active spot when there's an opponent Darkrai on the field. As long as you can go after their Darkrai with your own Darkrai, you should do alright. Plus, with Landorus-EX growing in popularity, Darkrai decks are not being played as heavily as before. Being a Stage 2, it's a bit tough getting multiple Chandys out at a time, but only 1-2 are needed to work.

Vanillite and Vanillish are both the NEX versions, chosen for their higher HP. They don't really have any special purpose other than getting Vanilluxe out.

Vanilluxe (NVI 29)
Slippery Soles allows multiple uses of Chandelure's ability per turn, and also messes with your opponent's strategies by forcing them to switch up their Pokemon as well, which is pretty fun. Also, it serves as an anti-Catcher card, because dragging your bench up in an attempt to stall you out is futile with Slippery Soles. While it is a Stage 2, only 1 is needed to get out.

Sableye (DEX 62)
Used for Junk Hunt to get back Switches, Computer Search, Super Rod, whatever you need. It's nice to be able once in awhile to drop damage with Chandy, retreat into another Chandy and drop some more, then Slippery Sole into Sableye.

Basic Set-Up

Start with Litwick, Call for Family to get out a Vanillite. Rare Candy into Chandelure to start dropping damage as soon as possible, or use Lampent to drag stuff up and stall your opponent for awhile. Use Dark Patch or just attach energies onto Darkrai to charge it up, and start Night Spearing when ready. Get out Vanilluxe when you can, have fun dropping damage counters and attacking with Darkrai.

The deck is really fun to play with, and it has actually done alright in testing. Hope you enjoyed it :)

9) Gertrude G 7/10 5/10 = 12/20

Rainbowgym
Well it should be easy to see the strategy.
Flygon to spread, while building on 1 or 2 Groudon EX to sweep.
I prefer Flygon over Chandelure due to having only 1 retreat.
The Meloetta is there for Pokemon who can KO Groudon in one hit, like Mewtwo or Keldeo.

Registeel has some very fun points to work with. Its weakness is rare in the current format, its resistance is common, and its got HUGE HP. Its second attack is average at best, dealing 80 for 4 and preventing 20. That's an attack that can really only be used as a finisher. The first attack, however, has a ton of really, really fun things you can do. 3 for 30 spread to 3. Not too shabby. And, given that a lot of the biggest decks in the current format rely upon having lots and lots of benched Pokemon, potentially devastating. It's a relatively simple card, but there's a lot that can work here.

Its problem is that it can't get the big hit, and it leaves too much time for the opponent to recover. So there has to be something else that needs to be done in order to get that big hit in and score KOs quickly. There are two ways you can go with this. One is to have a second attacker that takes advantage of having lots of damage on the defending Pokemon, something like Sigilyph EP. But that's clunky. It relies on retreating, energy manipulation, and precise damage calculation. Basically, it's too slow and too obnoxious of a combo to actually work. The second way is to manipulate the damage on the opponent to either score KOs or to force a decision by the opponent as to who they're going to use as their attackers. Dusknoir moves damage counters around from the bench, and does it without any major drawback or limitation, making the 90 damage drop from Steel worth every penny.

I decided on the second way, as it's faster, easier to build, and simply a more powerful idea. It's a deck that starts out hitting on turn 2, and continues hitting every single turn for the rest of the game. The way I'd like this dec k to run involves using Skyla to search a Beach out turn 1, attaching one of the 12 energy to a Registeel, playing your hand down to as small as possible, benching at least 2 Duskull, and then using Beach to grab as many cards as possible. Ultra Ball can grab anything, but it should be used generally for the Duskulls in the early game. Heavy Ball gets both Dusknoir and Registeel, so there's really not much of a need to search those guys out with Ultra Ball. The only reason for Ultra over Level in this case is that I like having the most generalized searching possible, and there's honestly not a ton of stuff in here that's absolutely necessary to the function of the deck.

There is one card that seems a bit out of place in here. Tool Scrapper. But, really, it isn't. Eviolite is the bane of this deck's existance. If your opponent has 3 or fewer Pokemon out with Eviolites on them, your day is going to get really long really quick. You need to Scrap out those Eviolites whenever you can. Pay attention to the matchups, though. Decks like Keldeo and Eels don't run the Lites, while the Big Basic decks run them and use them. The former, setup style decks will always have tons of Pokemon out, which is good for Spread. The latter can play itself down in bench spots a bit, so you need to make every damage counter count. Scrapper gives you the ability to hit for the full 90 every single turn.

This isn't a deck that can compete in a major way. But it will make a lot of games really, really close, especially in the late game when your opponent will likely have 2 prizes remaining, you have all 6, and about 400 damage spread around the board. Can anybody say 1 turn win? Yup, that's what this deck is trying to do against the big HP decks. Against something like Eels, you just KO the Eels every chance you get. Those are the most valuable prizes you're going to take in that game. Once the Eels are gone, you simply spread, spread, spread, and let Dusknoir do its job for those final 2 prizes.

As I have posted, I am currently dealing with a severe allergic reaction to some food in which I have no idea what it is. I am on meds, as I am now getting drowsy. I graded these with a full mind, but as I was typing this thread I started to get dizzy and tired. So I will give my insight tomorrow or the next day on the 4 decks that one the round for each Pod. Congrats to all!

PS- As we can see, a lot of people who entered didn't actually play this round. They are still eligible to participate, but there chance of making the cut isn't going to be easy. I will vote Pod 1 as most impressive pod this round, good job Pod 1.

If there is something I missed, please feel free to post it here. You may post your decks on here as well. Thanks guys.

wait just wondering Why is my deck not posted as well (i don't care really). I tied with him lol its fine get better soon

How is Pod 1's top deck 10/10 creativity? It's just Darkrai/Chandy, an old concept, + Vanilluxe.

It is creative in today's metagane, correct?

Btw, for the next couple of days...I am willing to change scores if it is 100% true that a score is messed up.

Surprised I did so well if I'm honest haha.
Glad I didn't go with my clunky Accelgor/gothitelle build :)

Thanks so much for getting this out extremely quickly despite the situation :)

OK, now I can post my screw-up. I used Eviolite instead of EXP Share in a deck that has no energy accel or manipulation.

YES!!!
My deck list is excellent!
But vablakes still beat me
Oh well

So just wondering but who continues to challenge 2
"Crosses fingers"

Hey my deck was Archeops/Sableye, I thought his was pretty creative compared to mine :p

Would have loved to see Cabd's analysis for the deck, it looks like it needs one to explain all the ins and outs haha.

cabd, I will post your strategy tomorrow. I completly forgot, plus didn't it cut off or something? Well, atleast the matchup? Again, I will answer all questions tomorrow...I an currently at work on my ship for duty.

Cave? Do I get to make combustible lemons?

But yeah, it yelled at me for the character limit. I could just post it myself if that's easier.

I'm on my phone, I love auto correction. I can post it tomorrow, but if you want it out tomorrow feel free to post it.
