Why are Korean booster boxes so insanely cheap?

eBay, the seller has loads of feedback and has sold a lot too.

You can even pre order Plasma Gale boxes that aren't out over there yet for £13, free postage too.

There's at least 3 people from Korea selling at these prices.
 
The card quality isn´t the best , really. That´s why they are that cheap.
Japanese>English>Korean going by card stock and ink quality, imo. But everyone has to decide himself
if it´s worth it. I bought a few boxes of Korean BW4 and I was quite disappointed.

I've only ordered one, a Cold Flare one. If it's any good I'm going to pre order the newest one.

And regardless of quality, $18 is insane.
 
They might be cheap but . . . what are you going to do with them?

Can't be used for play and aren't really going to hold much value.

I guess if you just want pretty pictures and a collection of Korean cards it's ok, but personally I'd spend the money on something I can use or trade.

I agree.. unless you find someone who collects korean cards or know anyone from korea who wants cards.. then you should buy. The reason why it's cheap because the market for korean cards are insanely low compared to the US and japan
 
Well, I think it'll be nice to kind of be able to collect the latest sets for such a cheap price and then when the hypes died down over here, I can start on the English set. I'll only be getting them for my personal collection purposes.

At the end of the day, I know which Pokemon is on the card so it doesn't make a difference to me as I don't plan on selling/battling anyway.
 
Well in my opinion I rather have the english/japanese because it's money well spent and if you need cash..you can sell it back.

Well, I don't think that really applies because I'm not investing a large amount of money into it so there will be no need for me to sell them back for cash. That way I still have the money I've saved from buying these boxes.

Release day of a new set:

People buy 2 boxes at £80 each = £160.

I buy 3 of the Korean boxes = £39.

As soon as the next set is out I can start buying singles and stuff from the set mentioned about because everyone's forgot about that set and has moved onto the next one.

How is that not saving money?

I end up with the set in English and Korean and still spent less than the people who bought 2 boxes at release.

That is false... The only time they forget about the set is when it's out of rotation.. Right now people are still looking for catchers and shiny catchers.
 
Peopel don't "forget" about sets.
They are harder to come by (find) as sets come out...
How often do you see packs of original HGSS lying around your Walmart's shelves?
Hardly ever?

That is because people always jump on the same bandwagons to get newer cards.
Supply & Demand.
I recall when Next Destinies came out, trying to get Black and White RHs, and had no luck as people had already move onto the next sets.

Actually, for some reason my Walmart tends to have a LOT of them. Toys R Us too, but they're super expensive

I find HGSS and D&P packs easily at Toys R us

Did I mention packs or did I say buy singles?
People have loads of cards from buying them when the set was just released.
 
The price of singles from a set does not drop dramatically when a new set is released. Or at all really. People don't just 'forget' about sets. Sometimes prices even go the opposite way (watch what happens to Lugia-EX and Plasma Energy when the next set comes out).

But even if you were right about that, you are STILL not saving money. You are paying additional money to get the Korean set. You could have just waited 3 months and got the English set at the 'reduced' prices (which don't exist).

If you want Korean cards, fair enough, but don't kid yourself you will save/make money by buying them.
