lol, so why not edit it? I swear this board sometimes...

Anywho, as I'd originally asked, what's the motivation? Just wanted to build something? Just curious since PTCGO exists for casual folks and PlayTCG for "enthusiasts".

First of all I'm not used to the new generation stuff. Moreover, playtcg and ptcgo is not the same as tcg one. In playtcg you need to impose the game rules yourself, in tcg one this is automated like ptcgo (for example, you just need to click a card in your hand to play it. It will automatically apply its effects). In ptcgo, you must buy real booster packs and redeem codes to play, in tcg one, its all free and casual also.

So imo tcg one has the union of best features of all tcg games so far.

Really glad to see this project take off after it was practically buried for ages :D

Ax, just a question. Will TCG One let you host your own server(ala Pokemon Online, and other such things), or will it have to run on dedicated server(s) that you(as in you, not the player) will need to maintain yourself? The OP seems to indicate the latter, but I just want to check anyway.

I will profess ignorance on the topic of networking; I merely ask this to know whether everything revolves around one server(ie does the game get totally shut down if something wonky happens at your end), or does life proceed as normal and players can host servers by themselves for the purpose of playing a game.

Hello and thanks for the feedback. I was not good enough to produce something at this complexity back then. But now, with 3 months of spare time working on it has finally got into some serious thing

It needs no dedicated server but if it is put on a dedicated machine, it will be faster and more responsive to play for players, and everyone can play it anytime without any downtime. All magic happens at the server, so no battle if server is offline. PM me if you want a detailed software information.

UPDATE: Added 3 more screenshots.

Awesome job with this man! I can't wait to fully try it out.

Why are you skipping the Neo series and moving on directly to the e-series?

Neat-O I'm surprised I didn't see this before.

Ill take a look at it tonight....

What program did you use to write the program?

It'd be helpful if you added a cancel option for cards that require two steps to help prevent misclicks. IE If you click on an energy you have to attach it, or if you play gust of wind you have to choose a bench pokemon.

For some reason Electabuzz wasn't doing double damage against Blastoise. It applied Weakness against Lapras, but nothing happened against Blastoise.

Also, is there any way to add Promos into the game? Movie Promo Mewtwo was a huge part of the game.

Thanks. Neo series pose too much complexity at the moment and they will be done when time is right.

You're right that also bugs me off :) It's on the todo list but with a lower priority. Better click with care for now.

We've talked on lobby for this issue and it will be fixed with the next update, today or tomorrow. Thanks for pointing these issues out. The game will be bug-free only with community feedback because I simply cannot test every situation for every card.

Promos are on the way too.

BTW, game has been updated to v7.70: Expedition set completed. It has been live for over 2 weeks now, 130+ players registered, 180+ games have been played.

Stay tuned!
