Will Pokegym be posting the deck lists for the 2007 World Champiopns? I am especially interested in Speed Empoleon since my son and I are using an Empoleon deck right now. The decks would be very interesting for those of us who didn't play in or attend Worlds.

All the T4 lists will be published when they make the worlds decks in a few months time. Until then it is up to the players themselves if they want to post their lists up on here.

jon,

i do know that corsola from unseen forces was in the deck. however, unseen forces is going to be rotated out, so empoleon won't be as "speedy."
 
could we use this thread to assimilate the top placed lists available- from reports on the gym, or wherever?

i'd also be interested to see empoleon- those crazy japanese guys!
 
lol, speed. Corsola slows it down if anything but makes it a lot more stable.

I think speed is not the best way of describing it. Ambush is pretty much Speed Empoleon already.
 
i'm really interested in seeing the lists, or if anyone can point me in the right direction for a report, that'd be tight

2 Prinplup(I'm sure it's more, he just didn't lay more against me)
3 Empoleon(Probably 4)

3 Cursed Stone
3 Cessation
2Stevens Advice
2 Scientist
1 Copycat
Mentor
3 Transciever

1 Scramble Energy
Some water

I'm sure there are more of those cards, but that is what I remember

2nd place finisher in Seniors didn't play Marowak, so it was no ambush. Everyone who played Marowak lost earlier on, Corsola went all the way to the finals. It makes the deck more stable, yes - but do you know any other starter than Corsola that could be "faster" (except for Puplip)?
 
There isn't any better starter than Corsola. The best that you could go for a probably Budew, or a CFFer. Yamato also had a 1-0-1 Infernape and a couple of Double Rainbow to go along with it
 
That's not the point, I mean, pretty much the idea of even using a starter contradicts the "speed" idea. I'm not saying Corsola is bad by any means, if it worked, it worked. But the name "Speed" Empoleon doesn't really fit.
 
If that's the case, I agree with you. The English name people have given to the deck is not that fitting. From all the matches I watched as a judge, I saw very few where an Empoleon was out by turn 3. If starting with Piplup, slow damage spreading with Prinplup seemed to be a more normal strategy than speeding up to a fast 70 damage with Empoleon.
 
Maybe the use of the starter is to up the number of basic pokemons in the deck so you won't end up giving card advantage to your opponent. Also, the starter pokemon is usually to be sacrificed so you can Scramble...
 
i reckon empoleon/raichu was better. you play the delta pikachus so your opponent will most likely expect a raichu d. no one would expect a raichu pk. so you send out the pikachu, evolve and scramble for 100 damage or 130 to empoleon for the k.o. thats how yee wei won his game one vs yamato. surprising him.
but after that yamato sniped all the pikachus :(
 
Yamato let me look at his list while in the open gaming area Sunday night and I saw all the cards he ran, I didn't note the list down but this is what I remember and know am 100% right. I'm only missing 3 cards, but I know energy and Pokemon and 100% right, it's just some Trainers numbers that might be off or I'm just forgetting a card or two.
