The Worst Luck Ever?

At the grinder in hawaii, it occured to me i must have the worst luck ever when it comes to prizes
here is a bit of information about it
-i lost a lucarilutions match by prizing two sceptile ex's... 4 TIMES!!! (different lucarilutions deck each time)
-i prized two treekos, two beldums, spearow, and holon volt against speed spread with a beldum start with no energy (!?!?!)
-in a pr match, i prized all 4 of my trainers with a budew start and no other pokemon
-i prized mewtwo * and dragonite ex against electanite (both win me the matchup btw)
none of these are lies, and i think i have witnesses for all of them happening

does anyone care to do the numbers on the odds of all this happening, im a bit depressed about it personally

Hmm. I think that's not the worst luck ever. Here is a fun example from my last Worlds. My list:

4x Electrike
4x Manectric ex
4x Mew ex
1x Roselia(LM)
1x Girafarig(LM)
1x Deoxys ex(EM)
=15

4x Elm
4x Dual Ball
1x Scott
1x Switch
1x Warp Point
4x ER2
4x Rocket's Admin
1x Giant Stump
2x Battle Frontier
2x Cursed Stone
3x Mary's Request
2x TV Reporter
=29

4x Multi Energy
2x Holon’s Trode
10x Lighting Energy
=16

And my opening hands were:
1st:T2 Disconnect
2nd: Speed Deoxys with 5 Energy and Dual Ball
3rd: Electrike 3 Elms, 1 Manectric ex, Dual Ball, Mew ex
4th: Speed Deoxys, 2 Elm,2 Manectric ex, 2 Lighting.
5th: Roselia, 2 Energy, 2 Elm, 2 Manectric ex
6th: Speed Deoxys, 6 Energy
7th: T4 Disconnect
8th: T2 Disconnect

So I went 3-5 because of my great starts. And in fact I had less bad starters than Jasoon  So that's very bad luck also. But your luck were terrible also.

Edit: Blassari: I made a tournament report about it and made notes during the tournament.

Sometimes your very own shuffling factors into bad starts (implying that our little world of "randomization" is not so random!). If you got two sceptile ex d prized in four games, I would re-evaluate my shuffling techniques, because the odds of that are astronomically low.

Dunno what to say about the prerelease...it's a prerelease, dude.

Yeah that spearow thing sounds bad too.

I once flipped full Tails for Beat Up with a full bench three times in a single game.

How can you remember your starting hands? :S

i wrote them down because i was originally going to do a grinder report for the grinder and side events i entered

were you the person playing metanite with a 3-2-3 sceptile line in the grinder (seniors)?

i am in masters, so no

i do a seven pile shuffle and give my opponent my deck to shuffle
i think i will take your advice and try other shuffling techniques

im not really angry about the pr, i got two packs like everyone else
i just thought id add it in for the emphasis, wat are the odds of that happening

omg, no!
SoFla's last hope!
But ya, atleast you had fun.
Sorry about the bad hands.
When u come back a battle hardened warrior/british black ninja. I will have been the world champion.
good luck in life BUDDYYYYYY

Yes indeed... and for me, coin flips have taken me down quite a few times (of course, I've not played in many tournaments.)

But these cases were really frustrating:

*Three tails for card effects (Poke Ball, Speed Stadium, Super Scoop Up) in one turn in the DP pre-release, and then Wurmple's String Shot didn't Paralyze the Defending Pokemon, which then KO'd me.

*A favorable matchup at League goes sour when I get EIGHT tails in a row trying to KO a Pokemon using Giovanni's Challenge. Needless to say, I lost that match.
