Ninetales Error Card, non-first edition. Price confirmation?

I'm looking to confirm the price of a Ninetales error card. I have a photo of it uploaded here:

I apologize for it being blurry, I had trouble with lighting in my room so this is the best I could do for now. I have a scanner but it's not working at the moment. If someone requests a scan, I'll see what I can do to fix it and upload it ASAP.

This card I got as part of a Brushfire preset box some years back (I believe it was '99 or '00) in a card shop in Annapolis. I've always been an avid collector of baseball cards so I knew to recognize an error right away; the damage number from the Fire Blast missing. The moment I got home I put it in a plastic card sleeve and put it in another and kept it that way since. I never once used this card in any game in all these years and for a time I even had it stored in the bank (I've since taken it back out). Therefore it is in excellent condition; as good as it can be!

I want to know a confirmed, settled price for this excellent condition card. I've seen varying amounts, although most of these price guides I've found on the internet are quite old. The price guide I found here shows it as high as $500(!), but I want to know if such a guide is up to date. Also a problem is that this card, while I assume it's shadowless (I'm new to the term, the graphic of the Ninetales is quite bland), it's NOT first edition. Some price guides only gave listings for a 1st edition Ninetales error (like Pojo.com though again, it appears to be an old site). So is the price of this card affected in any way because it's not 1st edition?

And where would I find a market for this? Where would I be able to sell this card? I'd do eBay but I"m cautious with that, I never used eBay before anyway. Thanks a bunch for the help!

The guides saying 1st ed are wrong.
You have the correct source for the error, an early precon deck.
First eds would not come in those decks.

Prepare for receiving a lot of PMs!
While $500 is a bit high, it does go for over $100. Exact values vary, but if it's mint...

I won't use 'mint' because I've grown up being used to the term used that has so many standards and specifics, especially for baseball cards. But I can safely say it is spotless, no bends, no frays, it is in excellent condition. I wish I could scan it to further prove my point, but I need my scanner fixed, I think it's just a driver issue...

So in order to get the most money out of this card, should I rely on a private transaction? I admit, while I have collected cards of all kinds, I've never formally sold a card before..

EDIT:

I got my scanner to work! Here's the card:

I have 0 rep in eBay because I never held an auction there before! X^D I find it risky because it might sell for too low and I think I'd have to make a high starting bid. Is there a place in this forum where I can set up a private auction or transaction?

By the way, here it is in our error gallery: http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=429&c=25
As you can see, no 1st ed stamp either.

ebay is probably a good way to go.
There are a number of collectors that keep an eye out for it.
Depends on your feedback rating, though. A low rating might scare away some bidders.

I was always told it came in Shadowless Packs. I dont remember any Pre-Con with a Ninetales. I could be mistaken but I think I would of remembered.

If it is mint, expect over 200 for it on ebay.

If you want I can sell it on ebay for you depending on certian things.

I find eBay to be very risky at this point because I fear I won't get as much value from the card. If there's a place around here where I can advertise this card for private transaction, that would be great! If I HAVE to sell it on eBay I might want to advertise it here; my worst fear is a lack of bidders.

EDIT:

My mom told me that if I ever need to do eBay (and like me, she's reluctant to get it up for auction on eBay right away), I can use her account which has a spotless record, so I don't need to worry about rep. Thanks for the offer though, Drew!

Sorry, we don't allow advertising of off site autions on here.
Nor do we allow new members to sell until they earn a sufficient reputation.

If someone authorized wished to run the sale for you, that would be OK.
But you'd have to trust them to handle the transaction.

I expect you will get offers PMed to you just from this discussion, though.

Ouch, I don't think I can be so trusting right away to that. I'll have to look into other options or places that would allow advertising then or at least find another place that lets me sell a card quick. I'm not quite looking up to the task of building up a year's worth of reputation here ;^P
