Banette L.42 – Psychic – HP80
Stage 1 – Evolves from Shuppet

[.] Ghost Head: You may place any number of damage counters on Banette (you can’t reduce Banette’s HP to 0). Then, place the same number of damage counters on the Defending Pokemon.
[P][P] Stacking Grudge: 40 damage. If any Banette is in your discard pile, this attack does an additional 40 damage. Choose 1 Banette from your discard pile, show it to your opponent, and shuffle it into your deck.

Weakness: Darkness (+20)
Resistance: Colorless (-20)
Retreat: 1

This new Banette from DP3 reminds me of Weezing DX. Is there anything that combos with this? It could make a very good deck.

I like him better than kricket its not hard to do a t2 80 with a bannete in the discard. His first attack is also suprerior to krickets.

Oh. I forgot to look at the HP. I think that it will absolutely OWN the Prereleases but I don't see it making a deck.

lol..forgot to look at HP

Well it will only dominate Prereleases if it is Uncommon, and not a rare. Not sure which it is, prob rare. But it won't dominate because: (read further)

I really don't like it for Modified, but it would still wouldn't be good in limited because what are the chances of pulling at least 2 Shuppet and at least 2 Banette (you need one to be in the discard!) I'd be really hard to keep one in the discard with such few trainers at a prerelease! :frown:

With CG Shuppet, you lose the need to get the stage 1 the next turn, but to use Banette's second attack on T2, you need a discard supporter AND another Banette in your hand. I feel it would be easier to setup a T2 Kricketune than a T2 Banette DP3.

i meant turn 2 suicide banette. You ascension, then turn two start setting up a pokémon and smash for 70 that then forces them to respond and scapegoat the Banette out of fear of a discard for 80. it's a threatening concept.

It is not that hard to ascend and then get a banette into the discard pile the same turn. You just have to base your entire deck around the t2 80 and futhermore consistantly hitting for that t2 80 I believe with the right collection of cards this can easy be achieved.

Emo is the name of the deck btw.

What I mean is you have the choice between Turn 2 win if the opportunity arises OR you "spread damage" in a way that ensures you can scramble to spread more.

Yes, personally i think versus a candy start or anything that can damage quick the strategy falls apart.

it's possible to consistently get a Banette in the discard pile using Nidoqueen d and Bronzong (or Delcatty ex)..

though it would be tough to get that set up quickly...

If it's Emo it will lose vs every Metal pokemon :D

Anyway, the second attack is so good, the first is not as good.Only 70 damages, if you have unown E, it can be windstormed, that means KO without the attack.
And, Weezing was good because of Ex pokemon, now they're not so used..
